I'd have to sink some serious coin to get Darwin in before starting WL. Still, I've been ticking away at the season tracker and just got to Alexis Sanchez. Double 5* with Finesse+ is dreamy, but his physicals are very low.
The Silva that is up next though looks absolute filth with a hunter. Basically 99 in everything Pace, passing, shooting and dribbling.
Not a single special card from any of the 84x10s or the 85x7. I did pack Robinson's inform from the TOTW pick though, who I think is extinct due to that US evo.
What do you guys consider to be fair game for chucking away at this point of the cycle? I was sat thinking how I'm going to do Nunez SBC and thought well if I start chucking these 90-93 rated special cards in I could do it in no time.
Its just that annoying thought of well what if they do a French WL next week with a great player as a reward? I can't possibly throw this guy away just in case!
I usually throw away anyone who has a better card available (and is somewhat attainable - so I am not throwing away my gold Messi as its going to be a while before I get the TOTS/TOTY one) and then throw away anyone outside a "first XI" of each major nation.
Some of these single SBC (the Canadian guy and American woman) could be worth using shit fodder to turn into big fodder.

Truth is I have the main squad and then enough for a separate squibs team that's also like 93-95 rated across the board, save one place for objective player or evo player. Anything else should get dumped off really.
Got the 95 Cancelo as my squibs red this week. He compares very well to Enzo actually. He's a tad slower and worse at shooting, but is taller, a bit better defensively and has much better PS+ for a more defensive CM. He'd be a great candidate to start at RB and move into the middle.

Moving TOTS Theo Hernandez to CM is fantastic. Not the best in dribbling but his long shots and late runs into the box for Long Ball FC is great. Ive got a marksman on him.
Im really enjoying the game at the moment. They playstyles + on cards is really coming in very useful. Not a fan of the constant press but it is really effective.
There isn’t really a grind to be able to keep opening packs and do SBC’s, but you can just about do the former if it’s only packs you want to open.
There kind of isn't a grind really. But that should change come Monday 6pm. You would usually chuck all duplicate 88+ cards into exchanges and then use the resulting cards in player picks. You keep going and you should start filling your club up with 84-87 rated squads. Most SBC solutions now need you to use 86 and 87 golds along side a required TOTS card which tends to drag the rating up. So you can use anything 88+ straight into an exchange if you run out. Everything 81-83 rated gets you a TOTW pick sorted out. You can use the player in an SBC from it or submit that to an exchange to keep going.
The problem is the latest player pick requires a full 11 players with 2 rares. Quite often it's giving you back 81s and 82s as your only options. So the grind runs out quickly.
The previous pick was an 82+ pick which required 8 golds and 2 rares. You're getting 1 option less, but no 81s being in there meant you came out better almost every time. To the point that I did Joe Gomez SBC(rated at 710k on FUTBIN) by buying 88 rateds over and over and putting them through the above process. It only cost me 130k or so to complete him.
New Szobo SBC is a bit meh. He has no real shot of an upgrade so to have him at 95 rated is a bit crap. It's also not that big of a jump on his TOTS, outside of aggression and a bit of defence. At least he's cheap.

I also played a guy before with tactics that would make Sincere weep. This man had a 5-3-2. His middle CM was the new Trent and he had Drogba and Haaland up front. Whenever he got the ball back, his wing backs flew out high and wide. He'd then pass it to Trent and he'd ping a pass in over the top of either full back to his own wing back. Then he'd take a touch and whip a cross in and Haaland or Drogba would smash it in. Nothing I could do to stop it. Frimpong is good but him trying to cover Haaland towards the back post is not it.
Worst part was if I tracked back to cover with a fullback, he'd switch it the other side. I started hunting down Trent to just foul him and he started doing the passes with Van Dijk.
Goal already for Nunez. Araujo owners annoyed at the 94th minute pointless goal they let in though.

Speaking of Alexis, I unlocked him and went into belated WL with some changed camera settings. Didn't really get on with him too well. He's quite weak and was goosed after about 70 mins. I lost the game because he kept getting bodied in the box as I needed him to hold someone off. This prompted an angry unlock of Darwin hoping to fix my woes.
Good lord, he is Him. I have played to halfway in my games and find myself 8-2. One guy quit as we were drawing, so Darwin has played 10 WL games and has 27 goals for me...

He will probably end up with a couple of upgrades too.
He doesn't move as smooth as say a Messi would, but being 6"2 he moves really well. He's only one G/A away from a +1 already. I've a hawk on him for now and he seems grand. Maybe will struggle against people who defend very deep, but then everyone will struggle.
I did pack Forlan when he was out too so that was a nice upgrade on a card I wont use but wont throw away.

Another thing that irritates is when you back out of a PP or some such SBC, if you choose not to open it immediately it takes you fully back to the main menu, not the SBC menu.
Weah should be a good shout. Already 1 clean sheet in the bag, seems to be in the first team and they have Panama next. Provides some good Serie A links and USA too.
I'm convinced they're not going to make it that easy as to make this coming weekend a Portugal WL. Could well see them doing a USA or something similar just to troll.
