Now, where the hell is my damn hoverboard?
Now, where the hell is my damn hoverboard?
I fucking hate days.
Never seen them apart from this bit where they were in a western. Looked rubs.
The first two are awesome. The third one - where they're in a Western - is alright.
I don't understand the reference. Bill and Ted was my childhood time travel film.
I've been invited to a back to the future themed Halloween party, and fancy dress is 'mandatory'. I know i'm just a spoilsport, but I really can't be fucked to prepare a costume. Enforced fun can do one.
Actually I suppose enforced fun is a bit of a stretch - I could just not go. I'd rather go and moan about it though.
Just go as none body warming McFly
And @phonics you should watch them.
It's strange that Back to the Future's future is now in the past.
It's surprising to me how enduring the films have been.
Don't get me wrong, I think they're great, but it isn't just old gits like me who're keeping this going, is it? There must be a whole new generation watching and loving them as well.
It's mainly eighties man-children I would have thought.
It's cool that when we watch Back to the Future 2 we'll be able to say, "While Marty's out wreaking havoc on a hover board, I was running in the state cross country meet / watching the Champions League / fapping to Ukrainian camgirls." Well, it's cool to me at least.
My main film nerd friend, the one who saw Spielberg in NYC and also the biggest Star Wars nerd I know, is a huge fan. I think Back to the Future is his favorite film. They've definitely endured at least in that subset of the population (which is the one that would turn this into a big deal).
See my above post, Yev. Virtually the same thing applies, though it's more widespread because Star Wars kept releasing stuff into the 2000s.
Man-children are probably the best demographic to aim your shit at these days.
Star Wars was surely a lot more influential and 'must watch' (whatever you think about it) than this. I'm sticking with man-children.
The kids these days enjoy the Back to the Future films too.
Yes, but when you're eight you don't know that, and that will lead to discovering the old films.
Back to the Future is definitely much less "must watch" than Star Wars (so is almost everything) but I'd say it's one of the most-watched films from the Eighties. And it definitely stands the test of time.
They are showing the first one on the symphony in a week or two btw, think I'll give it a go as the missus has yet to watch it.
Yup, the kids in my class were very excited about it being the day from back to the future 2 yesterday. They're 9 and 10 year olds.
A school near here had the whole school dress up as characters from the films yesterday too.
Star Wars is also very popular still. More so than BTTF with the boys.
And manchildren are what keep kickstarter in business. Fucking eejits.
I've never seen it.
It's the same people who keep those god awful coming book movies going. I haven't seen a good one since... X-Men 2?
I thought the early days X-Men one and the first Iron Man were decent.
I don't think I've ever watched Star Wars in full. I've definitely seen parts of it but I don't recall watching the whole thing. Maybe I did but my memory is shit.
It's actually rather satisfying that the Cubs got knocked out of the MLB postseason on Back to the Future Day.
How did Miami do?
I'm a twit
