    Aye.

Puts making fun of Harry Kane on social media into perspective.

Good few of our under 18’s going to Euro clubs now because they can’t go to England, latest is that lad from Cork City going to Milan. Still haven’t settled on whether it’s better or worse, maybe slightly better because it’s fewer.

Horrible, but I also absolutely expect it to be pretty common amongst footballers. Jimmy is absolutely right on that score.

Can't go to England because of work permits/Brexit etc?

That'd be an absolute killer for player development there surely.

The only line of defence I can offer Mason is, "I was ambushed by her face." and see where that takes him.

I think it probably has. Proximity to high quality coaching/development environments absolutely improves the overall. It is intrinsically harder [and frankly less likely] that young Irish players will be able to go into continental set-ups, with all of the problems that would present in terms of language, culture, proximity to family etc, and have the same outcomes they get in the British system.

I don't think it's any coincidence that the top international squads are made up from players that play across numerous international leagues. Those players all have the same cultural etc. issues we and the Irish do when moving to another country.

Could be. Years ago it would have been killer but then things changed regarding getting in continental youth. I’d say now we’re better concentrating on home and whoever goes to europe goes, but I’m not sure it’ll be any better.

Actually had read this earlier. It says fuck all really but I found it interesting that Sky paid for floodlights here because of the EPL.

Whatever happens anyway, knowing the FAI things won’t change until at least 2040 even if they started now.

Wasn't the final of the last major competition contended by two sides drawing almost exclusively from their own leagues?

I understand what you are saying, but I think it's pretty selective.

Good to see the old bill have gone straight in with assault and rape. Cya later mate. United don’t half produce some vile little cunts.

In better news, Villa wingers running wild on latter stages of AFCON. Trez looks like he’ll be moved on, but he LOVES a big goal. Traore is just complete silk and we’ve missed him and Bailey this season. Add in Coutinho and Buendia (plus Ghazi) and the width is complete filth.

    Greenwood, Morrison, Giggs for starters.

City bought Mendy and at the moment Foden’s biggest crime is hanging round with rapey Mason and having shit hair.

Moors Murderers, this bloke, Harold Shipman, all the various Coronation Street nonces. Peter Sutcliffe did two in Manchester as well, including the one that they nearly rumbled him over. Something in the water round there.

In the recording, which the Guardian has heard, Santiso tells his staff: “This staff is incredible, but there are things we still lack, that we still need. We still need, I still say it, to do something like what those from Arandina did, man,” he added, in reference to three footballers from the Spanish third division team Arandina CF who were each sentenced to 38 years in prison for the gang-rape of a 15-year-old girl in 2017.

The MG stuff is truly abhorrent but without meaning to compare (I mean, you can't, can you?), I have legit found Twitter to be stomach turning today reading some of the comments and found a much larger portion of men that I would have imagined defending him, questioning the entire thing and so on to be every bit as sick as the actual act. No wonder some women feel unsafe because some of the tweets I have read....just don't seem normal yet so many posting as though what they are suggesting is actually a rational thought.

Not one to feel sick about much, the voice recording was horrific in itself but the responses....can't just say fuck football fans either as that shit is ingrained from somewhere else.

It's exactly the same phenomenon as this:

If a player is of your tribe, they can do no wrong. It is not unique to football, but it is an extremely exaggerated form of it.

I don't think they are. He's just (probably a few hour before that quote) discovered that a man he thought was part of his family, who he has grown to trust, has in all likelihood been beating and raping his daughter. He is quite probably still trying to believe it's not true despite all evidence to the contrary. Coming to terms with something like that must be unbelievably difficult.

He of course might just be a wrong'un, but I think immediately assuming that just because he's not come out all guns blazing and calling for Greenwood to be skinned with a spoon when he's presumably been doorstepped is unreasonable.
