Odds on an Alpha Tauri pulling to the side should Lewis start pulling away?
Max made the corner (a testament to how fucking good he is on the brakes) but Lewis had nowhere to go. "You always leave a space."
Lads, if Giggles agrees with Lewis, then Max was a twat.
Finally a day when stupid run off comes in useful.
Well this is over then.
Like Ted's saying there, they're reaping their crops from the Descida do Lago there.
Oh fuck off Horner.
If you penalize Hamilton there, everyone would just divebomb it into every single corner. How could he possibly stay within the track without hitting Verstappen? Impossible.
Team bosses crying on the radio to the stewards is embarrassing.
The lead keeps getting bigger. How many seconds are hard to pull back?
'Jonathan' can fuck off too, must be the whiniest man in all of sport.
Derek Warwick coming through for the Brits, what a man.
Really happy with the decision there, Verstappen did his usual "you give me the position or else"-routine, which shouldn't be rewarded.
Anything can be pulled back if he gets on the quicker tyres at the right time later, but definitely advantage Hamilton at this point.
A massive undercut can give you 3-5 seconds if you nail it on a good circuit. Max having to blink first is a nightmare with the tyres this way around.
I'm more clear cut on it with every replay. Hamilton sees him coming, there is LOADS of room for Verstappen to go through, so why does he force Hamilton off the road?
The incident meant there wasn’t much about the start either but that was unreal considering the tyres also.
Edit - and just as I say that…
Is Brundle really still questioning it?
The incident irrelevant anyway, looks like Hamilton would have cruised past him with this tyre delta.
Red Bull on the wrong tyres has probably handed Lewis the win. Max's shit start hasn't helped either.
Good to see Valtteri putting in a good supporting race.
I don't remember when it stopped being necessary to leave space, if you can't make a pass and leave space for the other car then it wasn't on.
Did Hamilton need to come in that early?
Are they leaving Perez out to slow up Hamilton, surely he'll be no barrier.
It was a divebomb if I ever saw one. Went straight past the apex and only turned once he reached the curbs. Not an appropriate way of overtaking at any level.
Funny how he makes the corner when he's passing Sainz.
No but why risk it. There's no tyre advantage and Verstappen will have to use his harder in order to catch and pass him which looks unlikely from here.
On the move, lots of times that could easily go the other way and Hamilton would be penalised but I feel this is very much pigeons coming home to roost.
He is now. Lewis just needs to avoid a clash here.
Perez unbelievably aggressive there.
Ok, that was nice from Perez.
This, I have to say, is fucking brilliant.
Perez is so good
How has all that cost Lewis seven seconds?
Perez with hard but fair there.
Max could learn something.
Okay I loved that.
Great from Perez, that's the most useful he's been all season.
That was some great stuff from Perez. Got about a minute extra out of it that I thought he would.
7 seconds in 2 laps. Bloody hell, not that it will make much of a difference
I wish Perez had driven like that in combat all his career. Guess that's the benefit of experience and not being chucked onto the slagheap like all his Red Bull predecessors.
How is a man who won pole struggling to keep up with Hamilton unless his teammate is doing him a solid?
