My workmate was pestering me to try Fortnite because PUBG was annoying him. It's fine, and it's easier (I've still not won in PUBG despite being in or near the top five a few times) and won my first game within a few hours in duos, but.......... eh...... I just get nothing from it. I dunno if it's too slick, I dunno if it's the art style. It's not bad and I'd have thought it being more casual would suit me down to the ground but I just feel literally nothing while I'm playing it.
It does seem to be Epics attempt at Heroes of the Storm to PUBGs DOTA 2.
Played some more there with my mate and I get nothing out of it other than multiplayer bants. I feel literally nothing from it. PUBG has tension, it feels less floaty. I never thought for online PvP multiplayer I'd be advocating the less casual option but seriously. Nothing.

I've yet to win in PUBG yet, but I've had quite a few top 10s. Including one where I'd glitched and couldn't pick up any gear or do anything but somehow survived long enough to hide, naked, in an office until I was the 7th left or something.
Won a duos round in Fortnite inside my first couple of hours but it doesn't do much for me.

I won a solo on Fortnite within the first week but the enthusiasm died off real quick.

The highlight of the session last night was Ian blasting my face accidentally while I was dressed up looking like something that came out of a swamp.
Yeah, so near the end at a moment of high tension when I thought I was alone on a roof I hear footsteps and turn to see a man in a ghillie suit. In a moment of uncharacteristically swift reactions I then empty a good chunk of a clip into this camoflagued monster only to realise it was Pleb, not having warned me he was there.
Get used to that boys, I'm the king of friendly fire.

The Third Hard has represented the board with honour a few times tonight. I had one where mostly by cowardice I got to top.... 10? I think? We had a top 20 and then right at the end we all made top 10, Pleb and Phonics were top 6 and we were third team overall.
I've also killed more people in game today than the other 50-odd hours I've played put together.

I sort of knew where he was but he got sight over the cliff first and popped me in one/two shot(s). I had no kit outside of a level 1 everything. As you can see he's absolutely loaded with everything.

My tactic of finding a motorbike early on, choosing not to run myself over and instead driving into various towns only to instantly leave when I got shot at (literally 5 villages in a row I got 0 looting done, didn't even have time to get off my bike) paid off like a charm. With the exception of that one where I managed six kills over the weekend my successful runs, particularly in solo, have mostly been from being cautious.
I may not be able to play much over the weekend thanks to visiting parents.

Me and @Baz are giving that Fortnite a go on PS4 in a bit after we had to cut back on Battlegrounds.
The kids in work go nuts over it. They all play it at home and at breaktime in school act it out.
Fortnite is a load of yawn. It's fine but it evokes no reaction from me.
Going from PUBG to Fortnite gives you zero advantage over someone who has played neither.It’s crazy how fast some people seem to build staircases too.
Mike and I played on duo for a bit but got slaughtered but I noticed someone we know was also playing it so we combined our two duos and took on squads, which was far far better because they actually knew what they were doing, and were loads better than us. Had fun with them but certainly would never play it alone.

Yeah, tabbing to construct mode and throwing up insta-walls is key. Getting yourself to have 'crafting' be a combat reflex rather than a considered decision is weird.
I enjoyed it, it was miles better once we got into a team of four with two people who play it a lot and knew what to do. I’d play again though I doubt I’d play alone.
We played on PlayStation too while we do our PUBG play on PC, so using a pad was half the battle.
Yeah aiming and shooting on a pad is bollocks.
I’d did manage to get a headshot to finish off a downed opponent with a blue sniper rifle from miles away though.
