Matip looked good in the half he played, despite finishing 2-1 down, so no worries about Gomez. He can live stream from the bench with Ox.

Gave the ball away on numerous occasions, heavy touches, a shit version of Winks all in all.

In Ward-Prowse's defence, he does have one actual skill (dead ball delivery) unlike Winks, who has none, other than 5 yard sideways passes (admittedly the quintessential modern footballer skill).

Unfortunately for Ward-Prowse he doesn't get to use his skill for England all that much.

You obviously mean O’Shaughnessy (it’s not everyday you need to check the spelling for someone in your National team). We’re missing a ton of players so possibly. It’s more likely if we continue with our great three centre backs, zero points approach.

He’s not usually even close to getting into the squad, let alone start.

My biggest hope for today is that Hämäläinen plays so that he’s tied to us and can’t switch back to the Yanks.

All three of the midfield replaced from Thuraday. Never like seeing a Brady appearance though. Never thought I'd see Arter play for us again either.

Shame the cross is inexplicably not the same blue as in our flag. Otherwise I agree though, it’s pretty good.

We’re also been surprisingly good so far. Pukki really should’ve scored.

Hard to take much away from these games at the moment though. I’m just happy we haven’t looked out of our depth in these games.

    And Hämäläinen is ours now

He's always performed well and is great for popping up with a goal, bit of a legend by all accounts. He really looks uncomfortable on the ball and having it knocked about anywhere close to him in this system though. I didn't see much of Brighton but presumably that's why he didn't play much there either.

Is Molumby expected to stay there or go on loan again next season? He's looked energetic enough tonight anyway and had good reviews out of Millwall last season.

It was less than a minute after I posted that.

Very happy that we won away against a better team on paper, though you looked really poor tonight and I’m not sure it was because we made you look poor.

Nonetheless our first ever win against your lot.

We just have too many players that don't perform once they pull on that jersey, regardless of manager or setup.

Would merging Spain and Portugal help either of those? Of course it would and merging any two would obviously create a stronger team, but then you'd be left without a proper national team which is the real point of international soccer.

I missed the Molumby bit somehow, Giggles. He came off the bench in the Chelsea friendly. But he's probably 5th-7th choice centre mid, so I'd guess he'll go on loan again.

I saw Molumby in that Ireland line-up and wondered what had become of him. Had no idea he was still at Brighton.

Spent last season at Millwall but I think he got a decent extension before he went.

If you sacked off all the English ones (no real idea how many there are) would it be better? Bit of identity/shared experience.

The numbers of those are falling all the time and Kenny probably look more to the underage squads so it should fall more, though they'll need to be operating at a higher level to hold on to some of these promising Irish born 2nd generation Africans. In fairness very few of the English lads that played for us in the past were lacking in commitment anyway.

I'm probably being a bit unfair on them anyway as the likes of Brady, Hendrick, Hourihane, McCarthy, etc haven't exactly been lighting it up at club level either for a good while. If he doesn't have a 3-5-2 up his sleeve then some of our better PL performers like Doherty and the left wing back from Sheffield Utd will always be wasted. Would find a use for Obafemi too. I'd definitely worry that Kenny, due to his CV, won't get a decent crack from the supporters or media too, the vultures are already circling tonight.

You're just one of the dozen or so completely pointless national teams who seem to have no purpose or entertainment value. Rep. Ireland, Bulgaria, Hungary, Finland, Czech Rep., Romania, Norway, Scotland, Austria, Slovakia and so forth. This is unfortunately what happens when you become over-reliant on Aryans in this sport. Obafemi will be your saviour.

Obafemi doesn't seem to have the temperament to warrant selection at the moment regardless of not fitting the style.

Though if we ever have a lineup that contains Obafemi, Bazunu, Afolabi, Omobamidele, Sobowale, and Oko Flex I'll send you over a jersey.

Selecting players based on 'temperament' is how we've got to this sorry state of affairs where under 2.5 is games involving said sides is about 1.3 pre-match.

Jesus, that is some lineup, even if you have tagged on a Transformer to the end. Even the whites are coming in with names like Molumby. Was only a matter of time before the untapped Irish gash market was penetrated by BLM

I tell you what, highlights of Arsenal Gash against Reading have just been on BBC and there was some fucking tasty goals, progress has definitely been made, I reckon they could probably give my weekly kickabout lot a game.

Weirdly enough, Molumby is a common enough Irish name. We do have some fine rarities like Farrugia, Mandriou, and Elbouzedi in the 21's though.

The last live football game I went to (RIP) they had the like primary school development guys and girls teams out doing little 5s at half time. The standard will definitely keep getting better because, bar the odd humoungous heffer there to do the Roy Keane role there was some decent technique.

Problem being trying to keep them interested at 13 when they start reading mizz magazine.

Whenever SSN talks about it I just change the channel though. The standard might be better, but I just don’t care.

Now that I've realised I like basically any sport with high stakes and pressure over anything without I'd say I still enjoyed the last 8(ish) of the womens world cup more than 95% of Premier League games I watch.
