I didn't see the problem with LeTiss as the connection wasn't something he implied, he merely condoned the message ofthe meme. What I'm trying to say is, these fucking Monstera-bumming sourdough-making Nick Cave-idolising cunts can FO.

I'm not sure if I'm having deeply selective memory here but he's giving it the big'un about being blamed for everything but that's not my memory of THE NARRATIVE. Just that he was very expensive for how shit he was. I don't remember people easing off on the rest of our issues just to blame him, the moany tart.

That will go in as a forfeit. Not having their best players is no reason not to play the match. There are plenty more males in the Czech Republic.

Is being corona positive/travelling from quarantine countries going to rule players out from the opening weekend of league games?

I see Liverpool's new Greek has it. All sorts of fantasy implications.

It should. The Czech's are knackered. If it was two keepers, they might have had grounds for it.

The whole back five is fucking grim.

Luckily in spite of that this has been the single greatest football match of all time, I take back all my cynicism from the OP.

We might as well, we're doing fuck all else.

Also Ashley Cole must be up there with the worst pundits. He's making Alex Scott seem like the world's most interesting person.

I don't have an issue with Alex Scott as a pundit because I'm not a demented misogynist, but Cole makes her look a lot better than she is.

I just don't know what TV punditry can really add. Gary Lineker's not going to spark a heated philosophical debate about the merits of a three-man attack. It's just the usual, "Well, this happened. Talk us through it, Jermaine Jenas."

And then Jermaine drops the worldly knowledge that the defender didn't follow the man who he was supposed to mark so a goal happened.

I'm sure there are plenty of people who could offer nothing but do so at least in a more entertaining fashion.

I don't expect anybody to be ad-libbing a follow up to Inverting the Pyramid but I'm sure there's a level between that and "For me Jeff they just need to get that ball into the right areas."

Gary Neville was actually interesting before he disappeared up his own rectum.

@Ian I think Pat Nevin, Jamie Carragher when he manages to be concise, Ruud Gullit, and Owen Hargreaves make a decent stab at that middle ground.

Pundits should aim to do one of three things: offer something insightful or at least not blindingly obvious, tell us what they'd have thought of the goal/pass/sending off/whatever when playing themselves, and if neither of the first two, just be a funny/inoffensive/likeable presence like Ian Wright.

I'm not sure how Mahow's anti-England stance is sustainable when the side is the biggest bunch of Character-less fannies (alternatively: great bunch of #lads) you could ever put together.

Back to the pundit thing, the ones on BT are usually good. Owen Hargreaves in particular, once you get past thinking about his accent.

BT suffer from having over-promoted Rio Ferdinand despite him being a complete idiot. Their commentary being shit probably makes people think the analysis is worse than it is as well. Do they still do that awful casual alternative to Soccer Saturday with a massive settee and Harry Redknapp talking shit?

The only thing BT were actually good at was with Scottish football and that was mainly down to Chris Sutton carrying it, the massive don.

England are about to lose out on another unreal generation by sticking with Gareth Southgate.

The attack is potentially shit hot, so we're depending on the next tournament cycle and some defensive prospects come good. We're not doing anything with Harry Maguire/John Stones minding the fort.

I see Gomez was back to his grabby, demented best yesterday. I only saw the last 5 minutes or so (not even the Iceland penalty live) but I noticed Southgate having a deep and meaningful with him after England scored. Look Joe, just don't do anything daft for 5 minutes . . .

England might have a decent front 3, and that's all it really is in international terms, and I know a few players are out, but much of the midfield and defence is pretty poor.

I other news, Liverpool's 7-2 against Blackpool looks a bit less impressive when the 2 Blackpool scored were to go 2-0 up.
