I suppose I could get Emerson for my Brazil team but I doubt Brazil are going to be used again next season.
Edit: Yeah I'm not definitely not bothering. I'm 11.7k away and I'd need to finish week 5 gold (1 objective), week 6 gold (4 obj), silver stars, plus 2 of Future of Football, Sinkgraven or Guedes.

I took Emerson as he goes into the La Liga and Brazil teams I have. I got to Level 30 pretty easily this time around, whereas last season was a last-minute finish.
No level 30 for me either. I've got to about level 28 in both of my full seasons now. I just never end up doing the squad battles stuff as I find it a bit more boring.
Also the rewards in Division 1 are crap unless you get Rank 1. I'll be on tonight to finish off Tonali(just the goals left) and then hope next season kicks it up a notch or two. I'm not 100% we'll get new Icon swaps on Friday but it we do I'd like to see something better. The 4 players we were given the choice of were pretty meh in all honesty. Even if you have to make the top one harder to get, make it worth getting.
From here I think I need to work on getting a good CDM into my team. Tonali would be good to get in, but is hard to link. That Bruno card looks out of my reach in the time so another option is needed. The easiest thing here to get would be an Icon, though an actual top end one would be a while away. Gattuso looks about right, but his passing is terrible and is a little slow, but he has the right defensive stats and WRs. This is assuming we don't get a good set of FS players in team 2.

Dembele is an interesting one. Decent priced. French and good league. Would have preferred him still in Ligue Un. Would have been perfect for my team there.
Doesnt seem to be much between him and Isak outside of physical where he looks like he dominates.
I'll stick to 5-3-2 (and throw in a 3-5-2) but with Best and Neymar up front which means Zola at LWB/LM.

Got a tradeable Harvey Barnes (my third FFS) earlier so my coin balance has gone from 40k to just under 1.4m today which is lovely.

The BIN's on PS4 and PS5 are different.
I got the silver LB from WBA and saw his max BIN was 15k but on the market saw there were others up for 20k+. Logged into the PS5 version and his max BIN is at 21k which he instasold for.
Back in the weekend league for the first time since November. First game forced a 7th minute RQW at 2-0, and a 40th min RQW in the second at 6-2 up. Now have Kimpembe 86 at CB and feeling pretty good about my game.
Got half and hour to finish some icon loans then 6PM content.

As I suspected no Icon swaps straight away. They're a more "stuff for free" promo so they like to toot their own horn when that comes around. I reckon we've got a couple of weeks before they come in.
The new season looks better, for someone with a more empty club like me. That 85 Sensei looks a great card and that Dembele has FIFA 17 vibes all over him. The level 30 picks also look great for once. That De Sciglio could play anywhere across the defence or midfield.
I also like the upgradeable player, but I don't like that most of his upgrades must be done in MM. That modes toxicity is about to go up a notch.
Before the season ended I was rolling things into the 81+ upgrades and got a few great things back including a Kimmich. Thanks to the low chem requirement on the Bruno Guimares higher end squad I was able to do it with stuff from the club and then spend what I had left on the 84 squad to just get him completed. I just need to fiddle the chemistry about a bit and get him in.
I have been using Goretzka as my CDM, but turning him into that squad I realised he's not H/H like I thought all along, so having a set proper CDM might help a lot.
Played through to get the 85 Reinier this morning. Think I'll knock off the remaining trickier requirements and then just use him in other MM or SB games until I've unlocked the 87. He's around for a while.
8-4 in WL. Not enjoying the plethora of 5 at the back teams, but still scoring 3 or 4 most games. Rooney/Vardy/Barnes is pretty devastating, and most importantly I’ve actually remembered to sort squad numbers.
I don't know where they've come from but I hate it. I'm almost at the point of trying it, it seems to be that effective.

I tried a 5-3-2 and I'm not enjoying it. I'm not creating as many chances as my 3-5-2 and defensively I'm all over the place.
I'm getting absolutely abused by through balls and quick bridges/heel to heels.

There’s an inherent conservatism and game theory feel to the game these days, has been for years as FIFA joined MMOs etc in having overriding internet influenced metas. It’s a damned shame as I actually feel the game has a lot going for it in this edition, but it’s the same as any game out there with a strong YouTube scene these days.

Scotland game has come along at the right time. Lost 3 in a row, all vs 5 at the back low depth bores. Seeing a lot of vids on ‘new meta formation’ for it, so all the try yards are obviously sheeping it at the mo. Will likely encounter the same again when I get on for a few games tonight but might be in a better mood to deal with it.
This is how I'm lining up in game:
Working much better than the 3-5-2/5-3-2. Won my last game 9-1 but I've gone 3-1 with the formation (the loss could have gone either way) today so far.
Kept building the player picks until I got transfer banned. Opened about 50 in total.
No FFS, but some obscene fodder, so finished the mid-Icon pack (Sol Campbell) and did Curtis Jones (taking the CM).
Now have a club bereft of golds so the silver upgrades begin again.
I've been actively avoiding the 4-2-3-1 as I always gravitate towards it every version. It's served me okay so far, though this new rise of 5 at the back suggests I should maybe look into it, or something different to counter that.
I do miss the overlapping runs from Tavernier (I scored so many with him in the 3-5-2) but it does seem very effective.
I did want to try and stay away from the formation it is something I usually use and because I thought the 3-5-2 was very fun but I had been struggling with it since the latest patch.
