Politano is a little pricey but he looks a really good compliment to Immobile if you played 2 strikers. If I get some nice pulls in my rewards tomorrow I think I'll do him.
Got a cheeky Salif Sane out of a pack earlier - went straight into my BuLi team as we ploughed through their Objectives and he even scored the winner in the last game against some knobhead with a red ball. Instant club legend. Can't jump for some reason, despite being massive. Hwang was immense in this, scored almost every goal by just bombing past shitters with his 93 pace.
Just the Prem and La Liga to go, plus MLS/Champ in SB.
Took the coin in the end. Hopped on today to get through more Swaps and now Ligue 1 and La Liga are done. Just Bundesliga to go for the online portion. That gave me a pack of 2 rare gold players to open and it got me a damn fine walkout:

On Depay, I just don't understand him. He has stats that should have been ruining people early doors (which was when I packed him), but he never did for me.
And also, it'd be nice to get a value for money freeze SBC today, the majority of them have been shocking in that regard.

Which is quicker than my Bundesliga team (basically my first 11) and Premiership team (much better players).
In game it was 3-5-2 with Romero, Kjaer and Danilo at the back, Tonali and Ramsey at CDM and Gosens & Hakimi as the wingers.
3 games on the bounce with my Ligue 1 side that I scored first, my opponent didn't quit and I went on to lose :\

I'll be doing a load of the 81+ double upgrades on Monday as well as MM.
If you're bronze packing, the MLS, Saudi and Sud are pretty good to fill out the silvers for the other leagues.
Presumably there are more coming when the Saudi and Ligue 1 expire too.
I'm also considering opening all my packs (about 100 of them) that only have the chance or guarantee of 1 rare gold from them (but keeping the rest) to keep the grind going efficiently.
Really? I didnt notice until watching the squad builder showdown (great series IMO) where Andy tried to do it.
I would say thats worth it, restock the club with stuff that you can then turn into good packs. Though I did get Stoichkov from a basic gold pack last year.
I'm gonna wait for EA to add the next batch of league SBC's, chuck everything I have into league SBC's/upgrade packs and then open them. In the meantime it's objectives and a fuckton of BPM.
Knocked this together for now. I've bought it all up minus Dybala, but this has me thinking. To get Chucky in I need to go the Napoli route as Mexican is much more difficult. The Freeze Politano now has me interested.
Both he and Mertens have the same height, WF and SM, though Mertens is H/L. Other than that Politano looks much the better card. The problem here is the price. I've almost nothing left after building the above, though I do have a Piatek TOTW and untradeable Insigne in the club which would help.
You'll be fine with Mertens, no? And once you're on the Elite WL grind you'll be getting much better players than that Politano too?

TOTW Ginter and then Sancho as the best cards. I managed to avoid all of the meta 85s and 83s too so not great, but still a good 50k worth of players for effectively free.
First game of WL and if it's all like this it will be a long one.
Guy had a reasonable team, mostly Serie A. He was the type of player I've mentioned before I hate facing. Any time I get to the player to steal the ball away, he does a turn and suddenly is past and on to the next one.
I was even 5-3 up and he came back. Multiple goals scored from my players not getting to a ball they should have. For example a cross will be in to the back post with one of each of our players getting there at the same time. Even though my guy was before the ball, he still scored. I was carving him open all game and then when I needed to come back from 6-5, somehow can't put 2 passes together. 0-1.

I find it tough to get on with Dybala - he should be great but never seems to do much for me. Much prefer someone like Gomez or Martinez.

First Rivals game of the weekend for me.
I went 2-0 up through Lewandowski and Bebou but my defenders turned to crap and by the 60th minute it was 2-2.
Thankfully Lewandowski scored a lovely chip shot to make it 3 and then powered in a header from a corner to get a rage quit at 4-2.
From an 0-6 start last Friday to 1-0 this Friday.

What setting do you need to change to get the power bar (for passing and shooting) above a player's head?
Just played someone who was a complete cunt.
He was great at attacking and could have absolutely wiped the floor with me but he was a prick who kept time wasting, playing 1 depth etc etc.
He was 4-1 up and was just passing around his defence, stopping in midfield and just keeping the ball away from me.
Managed to grab 3 goals in the last 10 minutes (started by a long range Zola finesse as he dropped too deep) to send it to extra time.
He got a bullshit corner goal early where my Klostermann was in a better position but his Van Dijk managed to somehow get his head on it. What followed was more bullshit possession boring football before he sealed it with a counter attacking goal.
2-1.
There's definitely skill based match making in WL for at least the first 5 games now.
Followed that up by being smashed against someone much better than me 5-1 and then smashed someone much inferior 4-0 before he quit.
3-3.
I'm convinced I'm struggled so much last week due to a mixture of nerves, not being prepared for bullshit WL tactics and the PS5 matchmaking.

Diego loan Icon is pretty useful. Gnabry looks tidy as well
I’m tempted to dump everything into that Haaland. 6”4 and surprisingly agile, but has near perfect shooting and strength too.
Shows what EA think of the meta though. If he had 4*/4* I guarantee you could double that price.
My only issue would be fitting him into a team.
That Gnabry somehow linking in too would be amazing but I just don’t have the resources.

0-1 to 3-2 now. I'm having a horrible connection in every game and the icon at the top of the screen wont fuck off. I'm wired too which is more concerning. I'll try some port forwarding.
I reckon I could be 4-1, but 3-2 is probably justified. The goal for this weekend is to get the connection business sorted and try to get to 11 wins. Time is my enemy as I'm in for an early shift tomorrow and Monday.
The last guy was an ultimate drop back and play on the counter bastard. But he had Haaland and Rashford up front so I couldn't counter it too well in the trudgy connection.
I've redeemed and will be back in the race this afternoon.
