They do, because Pogba and Fernandes can't play 60 games each a season. If you'd had to watch Pereira and Lingard playing ~20 games a season you wouldn't be saying this.
Ok, but you've 2 very good players in those positions. You have positions with 0 good players in them. I'd be more worried about a first choice defender that can't run, than a back up that's a bit shit.

He'll go somewhere better next summer. PSG will probably want a centre-half, or Bayern, their defence is hardly stellar.
You'd probably have to chuck them £60m and then loan him back for a season for them to think about it, which would be mental and would never ever happen.
