Yeah, this tournament reminds just how much he filled out. What we needed was someone like Pearce on the end of it.

Also what was David Platt, theoretically in his prime, meant to be good at at this stage? It'd be very easy to forget he's even there.
I thought that the likes of Scholes and Beckham, coming off good seasons, hadn't got in the team because of experience but there really weren't that many caps in the squad.
I'm managing to be annoyed about this, fucking hell.
I do remember cheering that in the pub.
I would like to see the Darren Anderton/Robert Mugabe/Jamie Redknapp midfield three tidy their way through a modern tournament. Various players left at home for cultural reasons. Steve McManaman cutting in and offering absolutely nothing. Ian Walker starting because playing for a noncier team made people think his distribution was superior.
Was Ian Walker in goal? I watched the whole Scotland game the other night without realising that.
Nah it was Seaman's 'Tache.
I didn't really like Venables much at the time as he basically spent two years pissing about with bollocks formations (Christmas Trees) and picking his mates (Kevin Richardson), so watching all of this again it's nice in one respect to see that my memory hasn't gone that much in nearly 25 years.
The fucking state of Paul Ince.
Some corking penalties in this.

Fuck off ITV you cunts
Atleast show the Pizza advert in the next ad break.
What I didn't think about at the time, was that to get to the 6th kick and still have Andy Moller in the locker to take it is fucking ridiculous.
I remember when he was rumoured here
I really, really wish we kept hold of Hoddle. He should've kept his mouth shut.
Only 3 minutes into that Dunphy rant and I've been hit by a bukkake of right from second one of it.
Completely forgot Venables was involved with England under Schteve.

Of course you think that Tel.
I wonder if he got so any high profile jobs because he was so handy with a brown envelope.
I was reminded on Football Weekly the other day that El Tel actually resigned (making way for Glenn Hoddle) due to 'pending court cases' which then never actually took place. A proper dodger's dodger.
What I hadn't realised was how much the England fans used to sing Swing Low at football. Why did that die?
Final today - Germany Czech Republic. It's been a pretty fun experience re-living it all.
I think it was shortly after this that the Sheffield Wednesday band came in, which I have always believed is a hugely underrated factor in England's joyless death march over the last 20 years. Their droning dirges are the death of inspiration, the death of spontaneity, the death of fun.
parklife!
the birth of tarquin.
FA Cup dates:
Quarter finals 27th/28th June
Semi finals 11th/12th July
Final 1st August
Solid first half display from the lads. Nothing doing for the Germans outside of the goal. McManaman has been completely absent. Get him hooked.
So footballers don’t have to social distance?
Will they be getting tested before/after every game? If not, it’s gross negligence and if so, it’s a massive waste of resources.
Wealth = health
I'm a twit
We really should have nicked that in ET.
Anderton and Gazza both had 2 chances that should have been goals and Mcmanamanamanaman would have been straight through if he had first touch.
Probably our two best performers on the night.
Did anyone catch France v Czech Republic?
Yep. Pretty scrappy game - another 0-0.
Freiburg/Leverkusen in 10 minutes.
This has been an absolute fucking stinker.
Well "Harvertz" has just scored from nothing.
Erm, Czech Republic are winning. :/
Fucking Bierhoff.
I see Bremen are in danger of being relegated. Tell me more, Mahow.
Euro 96 was a ridiculously close tournament. Germany to win by golden goal (how fucking brutal a way to lose by the way!) - dreadful goalkeeping.
7 of the 9 knockout games went to extra time, the other 2 split by one goal. 55 goals in the group stage across 24 games, and 64 in total meaning just a shade over 2 goals a game.
Shearer's goals all came to nothing.
Srnicek would've saved it.
Today's offering: 3pm kick-off.
I forget which caretaker was in charge of Villa for this.

Schalke are getting dominated by Bremen.
Wagner is absolutely shocking.
German football is fucking rancid
