There's not an option for 'they're alright', so I went 'Love them'.

Remember when Heinz used to do those frozen baked bean pizzas? Why has that never become a widespread thing? Because they were belting.

Didn't some takeaway chain bring them back at some point?

They used to sell baked bean pasties like the ones Greggs do too and they binned those for some reason.

You see the concept come back every now and again, but I'm saying it should be a staple thing you can get everywhere all the time. To the point where if you order a pizza you should have to say whether you want it with beans or 'just tomato sauce'.

I've never been a fan of beans outside of on toast, on Jacket Potato or in a fry up. My Stepdads second wife served them up with Shepherds Pie once and It ruined the whole week.

Someone once gave me a chilli with them in. Horrific.

Someone recommended that to me once. I didn't try it, but I've also never taken their advice on anything since. Just because it's a bean, it doesn't make it a reasonable replacement for a Kidney Bean. I'd rather nosh off Sean Bean for sustenance.

They're awful, but sort of in the same vein I'll never be able to convince anyone of how amazing kohlrabi is and so I respect any cultural ethos borne of a harsh past.

The reaction is less out of some puritanical desire to only ever have the same 10 toppings on a pizza, and more to do with the fact that mushy, sweet beans just don’t sound like a very nice topping.

I haven't got many baked beans in. I have loads of kidney beans though. Mexico didn't see off the conquistadors on chipotle dressing alone.

My Dad grew kohlrabi in his garden for at least 20 years. I didn't know the English name for it until about 3 years ago.

We used to it raw thinly sliced with some lemon and salt, it was brilliant.

Love them. To the point where I spend more than I should on a tin a couple of times a month in the international food section.

    Branston are the nicest.

I’d love to try this pizza though. Don’t know how I missed that one.

I tend to find cheaper own brand ones eliminate this issue a bit. Coop beans are my beans of choice. Strong mature cheddar and brown sauce cuts through the sweetness as well. Mmm, beans.

100% knew before I even opened this thread that Mahow would be in here posting some deviant nonsense before diverging into some obscure Eastern European/Mediterranean equivalencies.

Beans are fantastic. Tasty, filling versatile and make you fart like the BFG. Glorious.

Is there not already quite a lot of salt in a tin of beans?

Beans are good. Can go with a variety of quick meals. I don't eat it as much as I used to but baked beans with a jacket potato are the business.

I found a four pack of beans earlier. Now just on the hunt for paracetamol and my war footing will be more or less complete.
