Everywhere is and now with people licking product in supermarket, I'm not sure we should merely close the country down, but nuke it. I'll take one for the team.

I think that’s the case. Lockdown by Wednesday I’d say

A surprisingly sensible way of doing it.
Off tomorrow, in Tuesday. He's paired up each person with someone else, wants everyone to work 50% of their contracted hours and to split it with who you're paired with.

Presumably the government/local authorities are guaranteeing teachers' wages through this? I have no idea how that kind of thing normally works.

I think anyone in a school is getting paid as normal. I haven't actually asked, it was mad last week, just didn't think to ask.

Its not really that simple. If I closed up shop tomorrow some other scaffolding company would swoop in and take the work and most probably the builders off me.

And buildings still need scaffolding by someone.

Things like wedding cake shops might have to take the hit, but anything which keeps the country not falling apart has to go on in some form.

I think a full lockdown not only safe guards people but probably businesses also. It's going to happen so we may as well get on with it.

Appreciate for the self employed it isn't, far from it. Should have clarified that in the original post.

A place of religious worship is not subject to penalty under section 3 of Executive Order 2020-11.

Has it started to get bad in the England yet?
FFS, I've just seen photos outside the Darlinghurst location in Sydney. The line goes three blocks.

The US jobless claims number for this past week comes out on Thursday. Goldman forecasted the number to be around 2.25 million - for reference, the highest it has ever been since 1967 is ~700K.

Good thing the Mexicans built tunnels underground to get the drugs in for when they close the border completely.

My uncle was appalled just how many Americans don’t really have any savings, basically just living week to week. So this is going to be an absolute shit storm for them I think if it really takes off - particularly given the number of people who work in retail. Expect a pretty sharp uptake in crime as desperation kicks in.

To top everything off, I've just been stopped by the cops for going through a red light (to be fair, there was no right turn, and 99% these junctions would be green for go straight bikes).

The second bummer is that I only had 4,500,000 in crisp 500k's so had to pay 500k - he wanted 800k, I'd usually pay 200k. Cunts.

As if STILL going into the office wasn't bad enough, when I tried to get my sandwich from the local Sainsbury's I was turned away for not being an NHS worker. There'll only be stuffing and gluten free pumpkin seeds left by 1.

Still in the office today. In fairness, we do manufacture food packaging so I can't see this place shutting down. I'm lucky I only share an office with one guy and we sit far enough away.

I went to Smyths toys yesterday to get a PS4, they were operating a 1 in 1 out policy and all the mongs in the queue looked at me like a proper twat for wearing latex gloves and asking them to keep a distance in the queue around me.

At one point there was 6 people bunched up in front of me, a one meter gap, myself, another gap and then a load more people ontop of themselves.

    People really just dont care.
