That story says the bail out hasn't happened yet and this further issue means they probably won't. It's literally the first five sentences.

I do sense an approach theme there.
Half of the USA deaths came from a retirement home. I'm amazed India's avoided it so far. Also, Phonics has rumbled my reading skills. I keep doing that.

To be honest I only clicked it to find out why the government bailed them out in the first place. A plane operator going out of business wouldn't save jobs in the same way a manufacturer would so frankly, 100million saved. Cheers COVID.

The thinking behind it seems to be attempting to save domestic routes but a competitor could just snap those up and their fleet.

Their major investor is a political donor, nothing to do with it I'm sure.

I mentioned this in jobs but we're isolating all walk-ins to one entrance at our hospital and now, as I work in public benefits, any time a patient neesd to return with documents we have to physically go outside to get them lmfao

Fucking hell, we were about to shit 100 million up the wall because we wanted to save 2,000 jobs (definitely not to protect the 20% holdings of a Conservative donor)

Would have been happier just giving everyone laid off 50 grand each.

How do you know it was Viral? Pneumonia is almost always a compound illness let in by another illness running you down. We had Flu in my house over Christmas and my wife had Pmeumonia afterwards. She lived with it for 3 weeks. Struggling to walk without getting breathless and hacking her guts up. She had blood tests which showed an infection, an x-ray which showed cloudy lungs, and got given 2 lots of Antibiotics. It took a third lot to fully clear it.

Having a Virus does not mean subsequent Pneumonia is a Viral infection. Viral Pneumonia is normally so mild you don't even know you have it.

So Covid-19 getting to your lungs is not actually Covid-19 affecting the lungs? I'm really confused. If most people dying of this shit are dying from pneumonia like symptoms, why aren't they treated with antibiotics?

That's like saying people with cancer getting Pneumonia have cancer pneumonia.

Some of them will have viral pneumonia. Some of them will have bacterial pneumonia. It's a compound illness.

Pneumonia can be bacterial or viral. Viral more common in children, bacterial more common in adults. Severe viral infections can predispose you to super-added bacterial infection.

Pneumonia is very common in people who are otherwise frail (I'd probably guess it's the number one cause of death), but healthy people get it as its own entity as well.

Aye, I don't get the supermarket panic. You're isolating for two weeks, not months. The supply chain's not knackered because Boris was all, "Fuck it. It's everywhere. Just be careful."

It just demonstrates how fragile society is. If something actually bad were to happen, that had an impact on everyone, we’d all be raping and pillaging within weeks.

Seeing people in face masks isn’t entirely unheard of around these parts, and I got rather used to it from spending a few weeks in Japan last year, but some of the efforts recently have been mental. A couple in full on matching goggles, mask and surgical gloves at Highbury and Islington earlier did cause me to break out into the kind of noticeable smile that marks you out as a probable nonce when alone on public transport.

    100%

Look at how quickly the riots in 2012(?) escalated from some protests to full on looting and going mental. It's surprisingly close to the surface.

It’s one of those things that I think those in charge genuinely underestimate how close society is to falling apart but they just keep pushing it.

Also why is toilet roll seen as a necessity? If you had to you could wash yourself out in the shower. Good luck eating your toothpaste.
