That's the problem. Other than England winning an actual major tournament, I've seen everything.

Moving back home and getting back into the domestic game has rekindled my like of the game. It’ll always come second to GAA but it’s still way above the meh the sport had become to me.

Still though, the olympics is mulch. Nobody follows shit like javelin or cross country the rest of the time.

What are the exact symptoms for this? I've just laid down a mammoth dose of the squirts on my arrival to work.

Fever and dry cough. Think the irrigation system has nothing to do with it.

Keeping track of US cases to see how rife California is with it. 24 cases, second only to Washington's 27. The infection rate seems to have spiked in the last few days, although that might be related to the Washington Care home it's gotten into.

    Paranoia is great, guys.

Yeah, the main symptoms are a fever followed by a dry cough. Your breathing is effected as well. My chest appears to be recovering so the office cough is some benign bullshit.

    That's what makes it great.

Five minutes into taekwondo or dressage at the Olympics I feel like an expert, get right into it for an hour or something then don't need to care about it again at all for another four years.

I mean I genuinely got quite into the judo at the last two and I still only watch at the Olympics.

To put it into perspective. California has like 5-6 times as many people as Washington.

All the US stats are absolute wank though because they're barely testing anyone so it doesn't really matter.

The coronavirus family causes the common cold. So the vast majority are just going to have a fever and runny nose.

Thats the thing isn't it? Like my dad was in Italy about a week ago and is now sporting an epic cold. He seems convinced it's just a cold but how are you actually supposed to tell? Can't be doing a test on every single fucker who ends up having a bit of a wonky booger can you, and they are best staying home anyway.

I'm convinced it's rife and people that haven't been to China et al are just writing it off as flu / cold.

Yeah, and that is what will actually collapse the health service if every dickhead with a headache or a cough starts turning up and demanding to be tested.

80 people dead in Italy from it yesterday.

That's quite a few. It must be contagious as fuck, which while the death rate is seemingly low, is where the problem comes from.

It's a new strain, that's literally the only thing setting it apart from existing (non-newsworthy) viruses. So it will spread fast because nobody has built an immunity to it yet.

Only 131 new cases in China today, and 25 in Japan. Seems to have almost run it's course.

As someone else mentioned, there's probably been an absolute shit ton in Vietnam, China, Cambodia, but people have just recovered and got on with life. The Koreans seem to be trying to test everyone in the country.

The differences in figures are interesting. One on end of the spectrum you have these countries (cases/deaths):

    Korea 5621 / 35
    Germany 244 / 0

    Then on the other end:

    Iran 2922 / 92
    Italy 2502 / 79
    USA 129 / 9

I do sense an approach theme there.

However in Sydney, the nation's largest city, supermarket shelves have been cleared in minutes, forcing one chain to enforce a four-pack buying limit.

Police were even called to a dispute on Wednesday, with reports saying a knife was pulled out in an argument over toilet roll between panic buying shoppers.

On social media, #toiletpapergate and #toiletpapercrisis were top trending on Wednesday. Rolls were being flogged for hundreds of dollars online, while listeners were calling into radio stations to win packs of 3-ply loo roll.

I don't really have a way of watching any of it so I wouldn't know, but it's not a particularly serious virus so the spread must be the noteworthy part.

The news are annoying, though. They scared everyone shitless about Ebola a few years back and before that it was MRSA. You don't hear a peep about them anymore. They've also never give a shit about MERS and that has an astonishingly high mortality rate.

Then they wonder why there is even an NHS CRISIS. Well it's because they rile everyone up and then are shocked when people clog the GP surgeries with a runny nose.

A woman in work with a cold called 111 last night to ask if she had Corona Virus because she, although explaining she isn't being racist she "was in Manchester at the weekend and it's full of those Chinese"
I'd normally ignore this, but I pointed out that it was definitely racist and if she's so poorly maybe she should have stayed home and not gone to work in a primary school.

My mate who works in a hospital was telling me about some old person who got admitted to the general ward last week, deteriorated over a few days and only then got tested for Covid. Came back positive and they've now shut the ward and sent about twenty staff home to isolate. Lolz.
