We should start paying them to pick up their prescriptions.

A little sweetener for picking up their Methadone.

I wonder whether they ever considered overriding devolution and running it all from Whitehall. There must be a MODEL somewhere measuring possible increased effectiveness vs the SNP claiming they could have been like New Zealand up there.

She would love to go the New Zealand route and lock everyone in their homes. Drakeford is just a wet flannel. The country would fall apart if he was given any actual power.

With a dad like Drakeford no wonder his son went round beating women up and having sex with under age girls...

The man is a compete and utter fucking cabbage.

But Wales being the country of inbred potato salads that we are, would rather lie in a bed of sheep shit than vote for any other party than Labour..

Who'd have thought it? Not sure what more is needed to kick these tossers to the side and get on with our lives.

If we'd listened to what South Africa were saying we could have done it over a fortnight ago when the bullshit started.

My mums very worried and I told her not to be because a virus that becomes more viral means it’s less potent. However the only daily paper we get is the Telegraph because my Dad loves the crossword. I think I might buy it to make her chill out.

She got the positive from the PCR. She is feeling a lot better again today so hopefully over the worst of it all.

Feel bad for her as she has been working from home since Febuary 2020 and has barely gone out. I've been the complete opposite and managed to avoid it completely again. I dont need to isolate but advised to test every day.

He's obviously very intelligent, but clearly wants to save absolute everyone (+ the NHS) from COVID and nobody from anything else.

What I do find puzzling is that he was caught red handed violating lockdown and nobody cares now, it's all forgotten - the pass you get for being in science is a strong one.

Either the devolved governments are going to look like absolute geniuses in three weeks or they are going to look like absolute helmets there really is no middle ground here.

I think the one thing all the figures are missing out on is that there will be a massive amount of people who aren't willing to take a test and ruin their Christmas and haven't done so in the last ten days. I reckon the case load is substantially higher than already than all these models are thinking it is especially seeing as this strain does seem to cause less severe illness.

While I was in the car yesterday, the geezer on the radio said that 100,000 of these positives are actually from the 15th (I don't know how or why) and that testing has already taken a bump. They are assuming that people are opting for the LFT's instead, because then they can be snide about it and ignore it if they're feeling better.

They're all going to look like idiots, for me, that's nailed on now.

And if that wasn't already obvious, Deepti's moved her sights onto long COVID again.

Deepti did a billion-tweet thread yesterday about the Imperial findings of reduced severity, and her conclusion was - you guessed it - we need tight restrictions NOW.

I only had a look late evening and you could see that she was having an increased crisis of confidence in herself as the day wore on, to the point where she was bringing the spectre of long COVID back into the room by the end of it.

She is a genuine disgrace to her profession and science as a whole.

My contention would be yes it is off the cards, there just isn't and won't be the data to support one.

I think the worst case scenario would be some kind of gathering limit or 'social distancing', the time for lockdowns with this wave has already been and gone.

I have absolutely no idea what the Celts are up to.

There’s barely been a change anyway. Can’t go to the football and you have table service at the pub. The football has been postponed anyway to coincide with the winter break and any non chain restaurant won’t listen to guidelines anyway

The Andy Burnham story arc shows how mental the devolved whoppers are being. You would have had him nailed on for any and all pro-NHS/anti-government line, but the Manchester gays and property criminals must be in his ear to keep the show on the road.

People catching Omicron are 50% to 70% less likely to need hospital care compared with previous variants, a major analysis says.
Jacob Rees Mogg and me donning our scientists, again. What a day of shame for all concerned.

Deepti is taking this badly, with some serious goalpost moving going on.

I didn't have the heart to tweet her to tell her that a failed sitcom writer on a message board with only a double C in Science at GCSE better understood what impact this variant would have than her.

I hate to say it, but universities are full of people like her. So far up their own arses they can’t see the reality. And when there’s even an inkling they’re wrong they just move the goalposts and double down.

Search Deepti on Twitter. You'll love her.

She's regularly invited on to the BBC to explain why everything is terrible and why good news should result in a full lockdown.

The "50% of colds will be Omicron" got me. Good job, lads. In an effort to lay the fear down, you've compared it to a benign seasonal virus.
