I mean, it's a legitimate concern in a sense. Let's say 5% of Delta infected go to hospital, and it's down to 2% with Omicron - you only need Omicron to be 3x as transmissible for that to mean a 20% increase in absolute admissions.
And we'd still have less than 10,000 people in hospital compared to the near 40,000 in Jan or the 15,000 this time last year.
