41 degree fever? That's extraordinarily high dude. I would send myself off to the hospital if it ever got that high

I’m not with her thankfully. She basically has a six pack, she’ll be fine. I’m just more interested if I’ll get two weeks off yo play the new CoD battle royal all week

Nah, knowing him, he is just someone who sees the best possible future in every situation. That's normally a fantastic quality to have in a friend, but in this particular situation it's the fucking worst.

Was the self-isolation advice if you're showing any symptoms not two weeks a couple of days ago but now it's just seven days?

My cousin's in the same boat, wedding in May. He asked me to be best man a fortnight ago and I haven't spoken to him since but I'm dreading him saying "what do you mean, cancel it?".

Daily updates from PM or Matt Hancock coming soon.

Oh and Corbyn sticking his loser oar in. And on that note, I remember someone saying what harm can it do if he takes a caretaker role after losing? Well, here we go.

Yep. Brought that in on Friday. I'm not sure how contagion works but Chief Whittle (OMG, MORE LIKE WHITTLE-THE-POPULATION-DOWN!) thinks those with minor symptoms will be just contagious enough to pass it on without massively knackering the recipient.

It shouldn’t be a politician doing the daily updates. Matt Hancock makes Chris Grayling look competent and Boris is a known liar. What’s the point?

Depends who the politician is (someone like Blair or even Cameron would have been good at this). We don't have such an authoritative voice currently. If Boris is going to do it he needs to cut his hair and fend off the Alzheimer's.

We could've had a prime minister who actually gives a shit about people but no, he might have done things like give us all broadband (a necessity now we're all gonna be working from home where we can) or nationalised the trains (they've started crying for government bailouts already).

Well, this was the standard of Sr Patrick Vallance's twitter update today:

If you have to be a cunt like Johnson to win then what's the point in winning? The UK is a cesspit and its media are willing cheerleaders for this government - if that wasn't evident enough in the election, it certainly should be now.

This country needs the fucking guillotine.

You don't need to be a cunt like Johnson to win, you just need to be better than Corbyn. The government's current plan looks absolutely insane and we have no effective opposition with which to challenge it. That's on Corbyn and the legions that kept him for that long, legions that if they could have their way would still have him now.

    Oh.
I'm not sure what the implication of this is. I assume you mean that it's too complex for the layman?

There's an inbetween. Part of my job before this situation likely put me out of one, is producing interviews with Scientists talking to the general public. Funnily enough, I've interviewed the two leading people on this in the US multiple times.

(The bloke at the podium and the blonde woman on the right)

I never got higher than a D in any scientific subject after Year 8 and yet I could explain to you how HIV spreads, how to combat it and the ongoing vaccine trials because of people like them. It's very possible.

The implication was that there's absolutely no information there whatsoever, to the point that Johnson would be perfectly fine disseminating it.

It's not to disseminate information, it's to reassure the public so they don't do anything stupid. I can't remember who was tweeting about it but they did this during Swine Flu because when there's a lack of 'news', the media go mental to fill the void.

Look at how this anonymous leaking to Peston about Herd Immunity, followed by everyone freaking out, followed by scientists defending the policy, followed by the government once again anonymously leaking that they never planned to do that anyway.

Johnson is a liar who will say anything to save his own skin, I don't trust him. Get someone else.

Well that's Whitty or Vallance and do you really trust either of those two at the moment? Which was the point I was making initially.

It's not hard to explain why their approach is so different to everyone else, why we're delaying isolation of the vulnerable etc., but despite appearing all over the media, they haven't.

First Queensland death is a 77 year old woman.

    61 cases
    1 death
    8 recovered
    1000 tests a day
    4000 in isolation

    Zero community transmissions

The biggest thing they are hammering home is 15 minutes 1 on 1 and 2 hours in the same room.

The 2 biggest supermarket chains are saying they refuse to swap or refund any bulk buying of toilet paper, pasta etc down the line in response to those revolting hoarding cunts.

Edit: Before the quota was put in place. 2 of those items max now

It actually says on my receipt change of mind returns are not available. Lol

New York City closes all bars, restaurants
New York City mayor Bill de Blasio says all bars, restaurants, and other venues must close from Tuesday.

“Our lives are all changing in ways that were unimaginable just a week ago," he said.

"We are taking a series of actions that we never would have taken otherwise in an effort to save the lives of loved ones and our neighbours.

"Now it is time to take yet another drastic step. The virus can spread rapidly through the close interactions New Yorkers have in restaurants, bars and places where we sit close together. We have to break that cycle.

“Tomorrow, I will sign an Executive Order limiting restaurants, bars and cafes to food take-out and delivery.

"Nightclubs, movie theatres, small theatre houses, and concert venues must all close. The order will go into effect Tuesday, March 17 at 9:00 AM."
Think we're officially on our own now boys...
