No, although it was only a short flight, thankfully. There is normally a drinks service but that's gone in the 'new normal'.

Yeah. I think it's more you don't realise how much communication is non-verbal until half your face is cordoned off. Particularly when you are trying to admonish errant 5 year olds from the row behind.

I wasn't that bothered by the mask, it sort of hurt on the nose after a while but that's probably a personal defect, I didn't find it stifling really even though it's a million degrees. It's just the overall experience was worse than I thought it would be.

It's not really about the personal comfort for me, it's more the fact I can't smile and nor can the gash who now thinks she's just got a weird Islamic pervert looking at her as opposed to a well-adjusted wildly successful Aryan.

No, but seriously, smiling is massive for the world, I don't want to live in a world where that's taken away for the benefit of your fat diabetic gran.

I look better with a mask on. Only thing I have going for me in the looks department are the eyes. Keep them forever, I say - you can't be too careful.

The state of them. I'd fucking set up a table and eat steak infront of the foodbank queues for the next 12 months if I could stomach dirty meat that often.

Still possibly less stupid than this whole affair though:

We seem to have thankfully roped in the second wave. Deaths up to 11, however all had underlying conditions, and only 2 under 60.

No new community cases yesterday, and just 6 the day before all linked to the same hospital in Danang.

My wife 'convinced' me last night to spend £500 on new furniture and then pay over 1k for a holiday. I'm on reduced salary and the economy is in recession. I'm such a baller (and/or nobhead).

New Zealand with 4 new cases.

New Zealand is no longer virus free, with four cases confirmed from one household in Auckland.

The cases have no known source and authorities are working to figure out where the family contracted coronavirus

Based on those 4 cases, and seeing as they weren't able to trace it to a source, the Prime Minister has just announced Auckland (pop 1M) will go back into lockdown tomorrow.

    Here we go again.

This isn't going to work, peeps. You can't go into pink alert every time someone gets ill. You won't keep it out forever. Over here there's a hundred times that many cases and we've found a way to live reasonably fulfilling lives alongside it.

Indeed. Locking down 1m people over 4 cases is complete and utter madness. Where is the end game in any of any of that?

We don't value life anywhere near as much as this normally and if we did, basic fundamental every day things, such as cars, or alcohol, or food that is bad for you, wouldn't be allowed.

Hmmm, those things you listed provide revenue, enjoyment, economical gain. CV-19 does not.

What do people make of Alyssa Milano claiming CV-19 has made her hair start falling out?

But locking down 1m people removes revenue, enjoyment and economical gain.

If we're locking down 1m to save lives and hurting the economy in the process, why aren't we doing likewise by binning McDonald's off?

Shinners you need to appreciate how fortunate you are to be in a fixed hour job. You can zone out at 5pm when it’s finished (or you should).

Busy or not, if you work a rigid hourly system it’s fine.

I’ve a pal drilling a well who’s spent the last 2 months basically on call. Fucking bullshit.

Ps spikey definitely good news for long term employment, bad news for dealing with more dregs of society.

This re-count of the death toll is good stuff. It reduces the overall total by twelve per cent, but more importantly it brings recent figures right down, which will hopefully go some way towards reassuring some of the fannies making decisions about schools and what have you.
