I am noticing progressively more people out and about. They're either going to have to loosen the reigns or clamp down hard. This wishy washy shite isn't working and the people that are doing what they're told are getting the ump with it.

That's the key, with the average level of compliance with the measures, it's working, no need to come down on the rebellious minority as a matter of urgency. The question is how long before the people who are following it all start taking back control through a combination of resentment at the selfish minority and (more significantly IMO) their own increasing inability to cope.

The wishy washy approach is probably the best way of doing it, really. If most people follow the rules but a few people take the piss, that's better than either a) having to put in place the massive infrastructure required to enforce a stricter lockdown, and the authoritarian atmosphere that would result, or b) opening it up and letting covid dance a light fandango through everyone's lungs.

My structure is helped massively by remote learning. It can keep me busy for a good few hours during the day, and with other bits such as curriculum progression maps being updated at the moment and being in school once a week, there's enough work to be getting on with. I see plenty of people when I'm out exercising but that doesn't have any effect on me.

The governors of Michigan and Maryland on Sunday blamed the president for the spike in such calls.
