I'm £100 up on mine. That's probably going to take a sharp turn.
Self isolation back when travelling into England until a negative PCR test is obtained.
RIP my IAG shares.
Masks back in shops lol
It's alright, life's more or less the same as it was in 2019 and these are just minor inconveniences.
What is the actual science on the additional protection granted by the booster? I'm smelling SCIENCE at this briefing.
This will have done wonders for the Team WFH members that have been dragged back into the office. I'm buzzing for you lads.
I don't mean to sound like a dick (and I should have been clearer), but I'm not interested in case numbers. Nobody should be at this point.
I've never seen a bigger overreaction to anything in my life. These are weak, scared people.
Just get the fucking boosters done and on we go ffs. Travel restrictions/rules are a complete 100% destructive waste of time.
Oh no, a virus!
Time we all grew up I think.
Another rent a gob fear mongering SCIENTIST on the news talking absolute shite. We're in for a tidal wave of these chancers coming out of the woodwork again, aren't we?
Everyone that got a booster.
German heads are gone watch: we have to do a lateral flow test to get into a restaurant which we have to do outside before we go in.
Brilliant, I thought my plastic glove mask combo in Greece was over the top but that takes the biscuit.
Looking forward to gagging outside.
I give it three days before shops have got one way systems back in. Luckily I declared the pandemic OVER at work weeks ago and took it upon myself to pull all the floor markers up.
Scotland never stopped wearing masks, and when I've been in England it's felt like the majority have worn them on public transport and in shops. I don't know why they changed the rules in the first place.
On the travel rules, I have no idea tbh. It's easy enough to dodge it all if you care enough.
True. It will become endemic.
I would like to see that too. With that said, we have not reached the level of people vaccinated + people previously infected that will allow for that*. As someone said upthread, we should be more concerned about vaccinating more people than giving boosters, but here we are.
I attended a talk by the QE Nicholas Christakis not too long ago, where he predicted that we have one more year of this shit. I am willing to believe him, unfortunately.
*By allow, I mean for governments and health organizations to stop shitting themselves.
And once we're done with this, inflation, etc. will come in. Should be a fun next several years.
Yeah, this will take a while to shift into a bland illness.
HTH x
Nice to see Giggles branching out.
2G+ regulations mean you get the negative of on the spot lateral flow tests but positive of not wearing a mask again in the restaurant. It's relatively ok as a compromise.
I'm going abroad for a few days on Friday and paid for a fucking lateral flow test to take when I returned which came today (mainly just so I could get the reference number sorted out for the "passenger locator form" or whatever it's called, one less this to do and all that) which is now effectively useless to me. I mean it was only £25 or something, but I'm sure they won't be offsetting that against the cost of the PCR test I am now meant to do after he dropped this rule change out of the blue.
Realistically, what will happen if I just ignore any request to do the PCR test when I return to the country? I'm guessing nothing. I'm leaning increasingly towards that course of action to be honest. Fuck all this now.
I didn't bother doing mine once and they didn't send anyone round. They're not paying test and trace people anymore so there's no-one to narc on you.
