Any other suggestions? I wouldn't want to spend too long on a plane and it has to be relatively cheap.
If you can get as far as Zanzibar you might as well go a bit further to the less shit Mauritius, although it will almost certainly be more expensive.

Hadn't really looked much into flight times, I doubt Zanzibar or Mauritius will be a goer unless I can get a decent stop over or two.

The most I can put up with on a plane is about 8 hours, any suggestions?

Fancy a 5 night away somewhere sunny (not outside Europe), looking at Tenerife as it's a decent 25C just now and not too hot at night, plus I'm fucking sick of this place and everyone and I hate being stuck in my fucking job trapped by the need to pay money to absolute cunts who own the world.

Any advice? I've just seen a child passport costs £46 which nearly put me off.

It's a bit cliché (and late), but you have to go up to The Peak during sunset.... it's quality. Otherwise, ask @Toby

The peak was fantastic. We went on the boat across Kowloon which was cool. Careful with your card though, both my bosses got their cards cloned out there.

I spent a day in Seville a couple of summers back and it was lovely. I'd like to go back for a weekend.

I was going to ask about Seville as my mum and sister are booking three nights there in February. As for Vienna and Budapest I'd recommend both, but I'd probably choose the former if pushed.

I've put off my winter break until either February or May half term I think. If I'm going to go to Scandinavia I was hoping to fit Reykjavik in too and more time then might allow me to do so. It's either that or Lake Como and Garda. Might leave that one until the summer.

On my way back from Salzburg now. Brilliant city, every two minutes there's something you want to take a photo of. I thought the fortress was brilliant, especially as it was never penetrated by force then I found out they actually ended up surrendering it without a fight when Napoleon came knocking. What a bunch of losers.

I'm looking at going away either Easter or May half-term (as we get a fortnight). Something along the lines of flying to Reykjavik for 3 nights, flying to Copenhagen for two or three nights (probably visit Malmo), train to Stockholm for two night and fly back (cheap flights from Stockholm). Are any of those places worth spending less/more time? And is Reykjavik essential, because realistically I think I'd have to fly both in and out of there, and if I didn't bother I could just fly to Copenhagen, get the train to Stockholm and fly home from there.

I think Norweigan Air were one of the cheap flights back from Stockholm, though British Airways was only about £40 to Heathrow too.

I stayed with a Uruguayan in Barcelona. Top geezer.

Gatwick Express is a waste of money (and not quick). Just get an ordinary train ticket from Clapham Junction or London Bridge. The airport's fine though; you just need to get the monorail to one of the terminals.

Just looked at the price of the Express. It is a bit steep. Could've sworn it was a good bit less than that last time I got it.

I used to fly home from Southend when I lived in London as the cheapest Easyjet flights were from there. That is a shit airport.

I'm flying with Norwegian Air to Tromso in February so I'll report back. There is wifi on board which I've never had with any carrier so they already win so long as they don't crash me.

Easyjet flies to Southend but only in the Winter.

There's a few things wrong with Stansted, The free wifi is awful and has no signal so you're lucky to get a refresh off that doesn't time out. It's so thin and you have shops either side of you so you're crushed into a world of things you're never going to buy or scrambling for space in the sea of people who are gagging for somewhere to sit down. There's no smoking area. You have to catch a monorail to your gate. The Italian guy serving at the bar is cool though.

I don't think anything beats Luton in terms of shit airports. Stansted is a dream in comparison. Spoke to my brother today he has flown with Norwegian before said they are decent enough it's only 300 quid for a return flight so I'm very tempted.

    Luton is grand as well.

Fly out of one of the Belfast airports any time you're going somewhere and you'll appreciate Luton or Stansted.

    Luton is fine.

    I hate Gatwick though.

The worst I have ever been to is some tiny fucking terminal that use to serve budget airlines into Warsaw.

The first few times I went it didn't have a single shop. All it had was about 10 check in desks (only 3 were ever in use), then you had to take your luggage and put it onto a conveyor belt round the corner, go through security and into an area with about 100 seats. They added a tiny souvenir shop near the end of it's run.

Oh and two times I went there was a bomb scare. We had to go out into the cold and wait for 45 minutes-1 hour for the A-Team to show up with a couple of dogs to determine that some twat had left their sandwiches in a bag on the side after being told they couldn't take them through security.

    Edit: Warsaw-Modlin.
