They are seemingly one of the better (best?) Australian teams, so they can't be that toilet, but their attempts to play it out from the back that must obviously work down there made it look like a defence vs attack match at times.

    A-League is notoriously awful.

Best Aussie team is probably worse than the worst MLS team, which shouldn’t be a barometer for United. Or maybe it should be these days

You would obviously expect United to win, but their style made them look shitter than they probably are.

I think Roy Keane as Newcastle manager is the only thing at this point that would get me back interested in the club.

Not to shit on Man Utd's great win, but Perth rested like 5 or 6 first teamers, too. Still, a win is a win.

The court of arbitration for sport has deemed the African Champions League final 2nd leg is to be replayed.

For info, Wydad Casablanca were playing Esperance and after a 1-1 in the first leg, were 1-0 down in the second leg. They then scored a goal which was disallowed by officials on the pitch. The Wydad players went mad and demand the ref check with VAR. This is when the referee let them know he couldn't as it wasn't working. Wydads players left the pitch in protest and refused to return. Referee abandoned the game declaring Esperance winners.

Following the decision by CAS, Esperance has filed an appeal to quash the decision and be declared winner, whilst Wydad have appealed and demanded to be named winner outright themselves and receive the prize money and medals.

If you ever want to watch the biggest shitfest football has to offer, watch a vaguely important club game between two North African sides. Each team generally has a hired West African striker who runs around fruitlessly up top, and the rest of the game is just 10 greased up losers (and maybe a token bald defender) rolling around on the deck and waving imaginary cards.

Chuck VAR into the mix and a black ref (they are all hugely racist on the Med) and it's a perfect firestorm. From what I've read, Wydad are fully in the wrong and should be thrown out.

Gzira United of Malta have just won 3-1 away at Hajduk Split to knock them out on away goals. Got to be one of the biggest shocks in European football in recent years. Also apparently pretty good news for Scotland's coefficient.

Ireland (/ˈaɪərlənd/ (listen); Irish: Éire [ˈeːɾʲə](listen); Ulster-Scots: Airlann [ˈɑːrlən]) is an island in the North Atlantic. It is separated from Great Britain to its east by the North Channel, the Irish Sea, and St George's Channel. Ireland is the second-largest islandof the British Isles, the third-largest in Europe, and the twentieth-largest on Earth.

    Sincere takes the win.

Islands aren't countries, and you travel to countries. Will he need to pass through Irish immigration to get to where he's going? He will not.

That's a plausible opinion for a Brit to have in fairness (how you rank your constituents of the UK is probably an opinion I'd share also, though NI and Scotland are equally bad), however I'm just trying to re educate with some facts for the less fortunate.

You must be deliberately missing the point at this stage seeing as you probably do know Sicily is Italy, hopefully. Is it a simplistic narrow train of thought that all countries have to be a single land mass or all single land masses are individual states that they teach children over there, or does it develop later in life?

Hang on, Sincy said he was going to Ireland. You're the one that took issue with it being 2 separate countries on one land mass.

As it stands I've been to Saint Martain, which is divided into French and Dutch sides, complete with hilarious stereotypes on each side (clogs and cheese) but there's no seethe when the gaff just gets called 'St Martain'. That's what the island is called.

He's not going to Ireland though, he's going to Northern Ireland. The world is set up and organised in nation states, not land masses.

As is the country. Read back, that's not the point being made.

If you're going to Madrid then you're saying you're going to Spain. Nobody is going around (unless they're a complete ponce) telling people they've a flight booked to Iberia.
