From watching other people play it, it seems weird. Finishing just seems random after you dribble excessively about the box. Very few good passing goals seem to be scored.
Bundesliga done in 5 games. Perfect as my Mbabu loan only had 5.
Done all the online now and 4 more wins in Squad Battles needed. I've done it over the last 24 hours on and off and the reality is it's not fun, particularly when you consider this is only 25% of the tokens and the icons on offer are mostly worse or no better than the players I already have.

These last 3 wins have been interminable.
I've gone from smashing it to my players all feeling like Danny Ings and it's taken me 5 so far and they've all been horrific.

I cant play rivals because everyone and their mother is doing objectives which means if I score first, there is a 75% chance the player will quit. Ive been sitting here for two hours now and have had one full game. This is ridiculous.
Scream Chong and EOAE Schweinstieger are back out - Chong is a fantastic little player who operates above his stats. Probably my favourite player this version. Cheap as chips so get on it if you missed him first time around.

I think I'll be putting some effort into getting that 'League Player' Moi Gomez. He looks shit hot already and I'm fairly sure those are the ones that could get upgraded.

He paused twice (taking the full 30 seconds each time) after his Vardy made it 3-1, I assume in an attempt to get me to quit.
I wish I had messages from unknowns turned on because I'd have loved to have seen a rage message from him after Hazard (playing due to the La Liga first owner) and Walkers shafted him late.
I've got a pretty good La Liga First Owner squad now John so I'll give Moi Gomez a run out in that and keep you posted.
Played a couple of games with him and it's fair to say he struggled to impose himself. It's early days, but Cazorla's Futmas card seems better at this stage.
Still, I'd do him for the upgrade opportunity if nothing else.

Started looking at that EFL Champ SBC and the prices look to be much much higher than futbin.
I’m gutted about the Championship SBC coming out now. It’s the one league that I hadn’t prepared for, mainly because I haven’t had the time over Christmas to focus much on FIFA. Managed to complete the MLS one for around 32k outlay and took Acosta, and made 40k back from duplicates alone. Tempted to run though it again as it is so easy to pick up MLS players on open bid, and the silver packs back are profitable right now.
I’ve done a bit here and there over Christmas, mostly just to complete Roussillon and Boulaya, and I also used the web app to do Bolasie, Diego Carlos, Renato Sanches, Shaqiri, Acuna and Mascherano.
Back home later tonight and I’m still off until the 6th so will get working on the icon swaps and hopefully get back into FUT Champions this weekend after 3 weeks away.
He doesn't have great links, but I was planning to take Essien as my Icon this round and he's made me think twice. I could take Prime Sol Campbell to give him a strong link then, assuming there are 24 available again, use the remainder on Pires. I probably won't, but it's bonkers that a Championship player looks good enough to even give me pause.
I have that Cazorla splitting time with Modric alongside Rui Costa at the moment and he's terrific. I'll definitely be grinding him out anyway, an 86 card with upgrade potential who fits my team and is essentially free is not to be missed. Hopefully I get along better with him but we seem to have similar player preferences.

I did. I used him in some of the icon swaps off the bench against the AI but haven’t used him against a human opponent yet, I will when I get into the England swaps. Felt very good in game though.

Think I'll stay First Owner until at least TOTY is done, but after that I'm not sure. I doubt I'll carry it passed TOTS launch as I want to be picking up the bargain cards to play this game beyond the release of FIFA21.

I'm tempted to do him and the Premier League SBC for the packs as I have most of both, but I'm down to 200k in liquid coins which is a level I like to stay above should a worthwhile SBC drop and I'd probably need to chuck about 100k in to get the players I don't have.

Finally got the English rivals swap (which was the last I needed online) thanks to a 2-0 win after a rage quit.
The guy constantly had the ball (he ended with 65% or something) but was utterly useless in the final third. At times it felt like I didn't even need to bother defending as he was always trying to chain skills even when he didn't need to. There were a lot of times when he created the space for a shot but then tried an extra skill and my player could then take the ball off him.
His only decent chance came when I accidentally played a free kick to him and he just decided to run it at me as my defence had parted but he overran rather than squaring it for an easy goal.
