Any legitimacy this tournament had was lost when I realised that in the choral bookends on TV, they are actually singing: 'The Naaaaaaaaations Leeeeeaaague.'

Does Johns Tones even know how to mark at corners?

He's been beaten every single time.

To give Pickford his dues he's made two amazing saves there.

I'd be subbing Stones at this stage. Just because he's a centre half doesn't make him exempt from the hook.

And he would have made a third to stop the goal if Walker hadn't monged his way into the picture.

Pickford has been a bit suspect at times.

The rest of the squad needs shooting.

Playing it out from the back with Stones, Caveman Harry and Walker is definitely a winning formula, particularly when there's no one to pass it to.

I was going to say Ł60m+ for De Ligt is a fairly unnecessary gamble for anyone to take, but then, what did City pay for Stones?

I missed the beginning of the second half, was there a reason cancer Kane came on for Rashford? Bit sad for Lingard having that one ruled out. He's generally not very good, but he's an awesome finisher. Took it brilliantly.

    Rashford took a knock.

I agree with someone on Reddit that the offside rule needs reviewing now VAR is a thing. It was designed to stop goal-hanging, not to rule out goals where the attackers toe is a cm ahead of the defender

Idk really, wasn't it a thing for a while that there had to be daylight between them? I don't think that'd be an unreasonable change to be honest.

    Daylight!

Obviously there are margins on whatever line you draw, so there's not much point. If you wanted to go mad you could go hockey style and only have it in the final third or something (rather than the opposing half).

I look forward to the hand-wringing about how shit we are again, there aren't any age groups for us to win coming up are there? (I know there is)

Quite like this Dutch team. They're a bit of a ragtag bunch, to say the least. Ryan Babel still getting a game.

Donny van der Beek or whatever his name is looks like a blonde Denny Landzaat regen. Same weirdly flat face.

im glad all 3 of the ex pros are absolutely no selling the "PLAY IT LONG!!" narrative the host is trying to push on behalf of the imagined plebs at home. carragher spot on that it isn't a problem of playing out of the back and it's just stones shitting his pants.

Merking the championship means little. I watched Adama literally run circles around players like he was on the school playground. There is more hope for James though. He cant have less of an end product that Adama. That would be impossible.

For someone who used take an interest in this shite, even getting matey for a few informal beers and the odd away day with the fake hoolie Manc Sean, this seems a bit odd.

Anyway they'll all probably fuck off back to Manchester now.

It's incredible how much you can't get wrong in such a small amount of words. My problem is with the small minded knobs who follow England and hark back to ww2 and IRA songs. Portugal is a great place for a football away and could be enjoyed without the complete helmets behaving like they are.

Coventry ground-sharing with Birmingham because the owners can't sort out a disagreement over the stadium with a rugby club from London.

So for the second time SISU are having to have them play in other places.

    What a shambles.
