    Name of the Year 2019

Pope Thrower and Ecclesiastical Denzel Washington are my early favourites, but I'm a big fan of the simplicity of Happy Kampire. Strong lineup this year.

I've never doubted a name in one of these as strongly as I doubt Breadoflife Faiupu, because that's just fucking nonsense.

Strong line-up. Pope Thrower is excellent, Chastity Gooch-Fant will probably do well but my favourite might be Telisport Putsavage.

Sharky Laguana, meanwhile, might as well just change his(?) name if he hasn't made a point of befriending somebody called George.

Some phenomenal contenders this year. Jizyah Shorts will take some beating (arf) but Pope Thrower and General Booty are immense. Mustafa Tuna and Bear Spiker are outside bets.

    Sithole Regional voting: https://deadspin.com/name-of-the-yea...nal-1833746158
Dr. Trent Artichoker vs. Voltaire Casino was a hard choice.

Following the link in the article Jizyah Shorts is a good looking woman.

Also I can't believe Raymundo Mundo isn't winning his. Shambles.

Pope Thrower vs. Jizyah Shorts final. Tough one.

Shorts is definitely winning but I think I'd edge Pope Thrower.

Jizyah Shorts was the guaranteed winner from the moment it was included. I'd also choose Pope Thrower though (alright, Giggles).

You seem to have taken a proper shine to this stuff, Webly. As many posts as everyone else combined.

I like a good / bad name anyway and I was all over last year's tournament too there just wasn't a proper thread.

I think it was possibly getting into the NFL and seeing the NFL draft as a result that got me started. D'Brickashaw Ferguson, Frostee Rucker, Kamerion Wimbley.

    Good times.

I'm sure I made one for last year's.

I just love the initial bracket. Could not give a fuck who wins it in the end, I just enjoy the collection of mad names.

I know a Loweeze, which makes me smile every time I remember that's how she spells it.

One of my tenants is called Bee-Jay. Why would you do that to your child?

I knew someone known as 'BJ' once, but I think it was short for something like Barry or Brian John. I never really knew why he went with BJ.

There's a UFC fighter who goes by BJ, despite his actual name being Jay Dee. That's because he and two of his three brothers are all called Jay Dee, and he's the youngest so the BJ stands for 'Baby Jay'.

    Jizyah Shorts did not win.

    Pope Thrower is your champion.

I like that, the ones made up of two relatively normal names feel like the best ones.
