Militao has got to be the coolest name ever for a centre-back.

L’Equipe reporting ‘Eden Hazard is Madrid done, 100m (Euros), will be announced after the final.’

Thorgan or Eden? Crazy money for the former, ridiculously cheap (in the current climate) for the latter.

Latter, forgot there was multiple. Edited my post. I think he only has one year left on his contract. The Thorgen looks Dortmund bound.

Apparently Zidane's his idol or whatever, I wonder what bearing that had on their rehiring him. That Militao guy looks good as well but the Spanish pair are going to have to come to terms with being back with the crowd now that they no longer have (or are experiencing the dying days of) their cheat players.

Where does Eriksen play? I guess with his contract situation he'll probably be off somewhere in the summer. Would be a good buy for City if they could persuade him to turn his back on whichever of Barcelona or Real Madrid he grew up dreaming of playing for.

Pulisic will be a laugh at Chelsea, presumably he's been brought in to play the role that Hazard has been playing but the man can't even hack it against Trinidadian defenses

Ya I can't really understand the Pulisic thing other than the idea he'll sell a ton of shirts in America.

Edit: I mean he can be a tidy player on his day but I see him more as someone who could, like Dempsey, go to a mid-table side and "do-a-business" every now and then like when Dempsey scored 15 goals or whatever it was for Fulham that one year.

I think 5 years from now he'd be a very good player for an Everton side. Right now he'd struggle to get into the Everton team, much less the Chelsea team. Sarri hates players like him anyway.

I saw 86M quoted for Hazard. In todays day and age, that sounds like an absolute steal.

It sounds like a rip-off considering he's only got a year on his contract left. That effectively values him as the most expensive player in the world.

You can add to that transfer fee all the Champions League revenue that he earned us by still being here and qualifying us for it this year.

It's arguable it might be worth doing the same again and letting him go for 'nothing' next season, but I get the impression he might not be that on board with that course of action.

Chelsea tend to respect players' wishes when it comes to this sort of thing. It probably helps when signing players knowing that they won't have to deal with anything like Levy at Tottenham.

The Greaseman has announced he's leaving Atletico at the end of the season. £108m release clause is expected to be activated by Barcelona any time now.

Surely means Coutinho/Dembele or both are out the door too.

Yeah, I think they'll stick with Dembele unless his 'bad character' is a significant problem.

Suarez isn't going anywhere and I'd be amazed if anyone bar maybe PSG went near Coutinho for the sort of money Barca want for him.

The prices floating around for players are never going to last too long especailly as the most important thing is performance value. Playing for Barcelona sound really difficult. The exspectation levels are crazy.

I thought Griezzman was about 24. He is 28

I'm annoyed that Coutinho shitting it up has slowed the pace of them trying to drum Dembele out of the club. He'd be a dream signing.

Has Coutinho been that bad? BArca exspect a lot from their players. Looking at his numbers, he has been fairly similar to Iniesta when it comes to goals and asssits when they were around the same age.

He's probably played worse than his stats suggest, but then his stats are better than anything he ever achieved at Liverpool (well, I thought they were, although looking maybe they aren't) so I'm not really sure what they were expecting. He's a quality player but I think he needs quite careful management, which neither the binman nor the Barca 'faithful' are apt to provide. Also, you know, expecting him to seamlessly replace one of their best ever players might have been somewhat unrealistic.

Zaha has told Palace he wasnt to leave for Champions League football according to SSN. He can probably make the step up now. Chelsea wouldnt be a bad fit for him. Ivorians do well in those parts.

Palace will want mental money for him (I've seen £80m mentioned).

Much better off going for an Ajax bod for about a third of the price. What's the Neres guy like?

The best money Utd could spend this summer would be paying off Solksjaers contract and getting in Pochettino. And for fuck all money when you consider what players are costing now.

I think Zaha would be better off staying put as it'll only go the same way it did at Man United. He's one of the best outside the top six but I don't think he's good enough to be a regular for any and at the price he'll cost it's just not worth it. £80M....for what?

If he came to Chelsea, the dear leader would have him on the bench for seven months until his 'tactical work' was up to scratch, which in his case would probably be never, and then he'd go back on loan to Palace.

He'd do alright at Liverpool or City as a kind of wildcard to come off the bench and win them the League Cup.

I'm half expecting Sarri to leave before the new season kicks off so that might not be an issue but I'd feel rather underwhelmed if I found Hazard's replacement was Zaha.

Doesn't he predominantly play on the left? I would have him if Anthony Martial gets drummed out, but a more natural right-sided player is the priority at that end. Then again, he was literally signed by Sir Alex Ferguson once, so that probably counts for more than anything now.

I can imagine that's exactly the same thing that OGS thinks too. The same way he thinks nostalgia is a tactic.

OGS - "Zaha would be good because the gaffer did sign him too."

    RioDoF - "£80m bruv"

    OGS - "Sanchez"

RioDoF - "Merked. Ask the boss"

OGS - "Boss? Can I sign Zaha?"

    Fergie - Yes.

    Ed - No

    Awkward silence. Transfer window shuts.

I don't think he'd be thick enough to go back to them either. He's been good enough to leave Palace for years now, but has stayed without complaint.
