I don't mind Paulp Ogba having shit games (and I'm not sure what he is meant to do today when everyone is ambling about) because even when he is he still tries to make things happen. The others tend to fall to pieces as soon as somebody gets into them.

The criticism that gets thrown at him is just so ridiculous. His stats are one of if not the best for a midfielder in the league (despite Utd being pretty turgid for large parts of the season). Anyone who actually watches out games can see he's by far our best outfield player in almost every game. The only chances we had against Barcelona were directly the result of excellent play/passes from him.
People just want to hate him because he's the perfect combination of not a 'proper football manTM', expensive and plays for Man Utd. The expectation seems to be that he just win games by himself when everyone else is playing like shit and if he doesn't he's rubbish; he's not Messi or Ronaldo and just because he cost a lot of money doesn't mean he should be expected to be, especially as he's not a forward.

I don't think 'being able to offer Champions' League Football' is an issue these days. If you are competing against Barcelona and Madrid you usually lose out; if you are up against Bayern, Citypool, PSG or Juventus it comes down to money or some other shit out of your control; and is anyone really going to sign for Tottenham or Dortmund because they are in it that year and United aren't?
Liverpool and City both winning out is the best outcome. It means that one game against City cost Liverpool the title, 100 points and an unbeaten season which is just. But I’ll take any outcome as long as City win it.

I think if they could get whoever the best non-Liverpool centre-back around is (Ahmed Johnson at Napoli seems like the favoured option) it would be alright for the first choice defence. Victor Lindelof is good, and the full-backs would be fine if the middle could defend properly. You will need some other people in to replace who you would like to see get the white Fiat Uno, but they don't all have to be fifty million quid each. The BIG MONEY will go on a shit-hot right-sided attacker and a couple of new midfielders.

We need 2 centre mids to replace Matic, Fred and Herrera. A winger to replace Martial and a forward to replace Lukaku.
Dalot will either go full Gareth Bale or full Micah Richards. There's no inbetween.
I was thinking earlier that his versatility might end up killing him, so he needs a run at right-back. As for Martial and Lukaku, can you really see them both going in the summer? I think Lukaku is the more likely (probably to Italy), but fuck knows who replaces him.
Considering Lukaku doesn't really offer much it's probably not important if we do replace him.Give Greenwood a go if we have to.
