They were the best of the rest when the rest consisted of seventeen teams because they had Alan Shearer. They are a mid-table side with a big stadium.

To Bobby's credit, he did get 3rd, 4th and 5th in consecutive seasons. Then it went to shit. Seems you can't manage that with this club for longer than 3 years. And the regular cup runs? 1998-2000 is as regular as it got. Count 2003-2005 for the two UEFA Cup runs but one was a bottlejob and the other was Drogba suddenly deciding he was about to amazing forever.

Before our Rafa took over Newcastle were one of my least favourite clubs, mostly due to their supporters insistence that they’re a ‘big’ club despite never ever even getting close to winning anything.
They’re a little club who happen to be in a big, football loving city.
Rafa though
I see Neymar's first game back went well.
Time to go back into hibernation. Someone needs to save Mbappe from PSG.
Mbappe to Real in 2 years
Neymar's such an unlikable cunt.
He, and anyone at PSG, are complete nobodies anyway. Anyone willing to waste their career playing against sub-Championship shite will be completely forgettable after retirement. That said, he has a few Euro's to dry his tears with.
I like Neymar. We need players like him who clearly think they are better than everyone else and cry when things dont go their way.
Mbappe does not need to leave PSG anytime soon. He can just keep collecting easy league titles. Its easy work.
I also see that Messi won La Liga again last night to make it 8 from the past 11 seasons. 10 overall for him. Vidal also has won 8 straight league titles across 3 different countries.
8 in 11 for Barca, 7 in a row for Bayern, 6 in 7 years for PSG, 8 in a row for Juve, European football is dead.
Imagine if Ajax weren't a selling club.
Emery has won two of his last 11 away games and is still significantly outperforming last years record. Incredible.
edit: Choudray goes studs in on a players chest and it's not a free kick but Maitland-Niles getting a booking for winning a shoulder to shoulder is madness. The game is fundamentally broken in a yellow card/red card system.
And then N'Didi gets a yellow for something innocuous because the ref realises he cocked up the last one. Definite red card coming.
It's the sort of numpty thinking that leads to people saying Messi isn't all that because he hasn't won the World Cup. You can ignore them.
Told you, red card. Absolute joke.
On top of a red card I'm raging at I'm going to have to watch Mustafi get turned by Vardy over and over again.
Not that I'm trying to build a conspiracy but are you allowed to play advantage and send the player off or is it a yellow card thing?
Luis Suarez is the third highest Barcelona scorer of all time and will anyone remember him outside of being a footnote to La Masia graduates?
This race for top four has been an embarrassment. Man Utd will win later to make it even more lol.
Look at this, literally every foul is a yellow card. This isn't how it's supposed to work.
Leno pretty good isn't he
now that's a proper knock
LEEDS LEEDS LEEDS.
Seething galore
How are Sheffield Utd celebrating going up when Leeds can mathematically catch them on goal difference? Or are they doing that head to head thing too?
Still though, Leeds not going up would be wonderful.
That was unreal shithousing from Leeds but Bielsa ruined it.
Arsenal's defence is amazing.
I'm a twit
Genuinely wanted Leeds to go up but Bielsa's faux morality has ruined it for me
Aren't you supposed to be a United fan?
That was insane. We missed the sending off so had no idea what the fuck happened. That PO final will be super intense as fuck.
Fair.
Should have been a pen in the city burnley game.
City are just going to score aren’t they. It’s just going to happen.
Have City failed to score in any fixture this season? I'm genuinely curious.
edit: just remembered the 0:0 with Liverpool now that I stopped and thought about it nvm
