How will you make them?
Lemon and sugar?
Cream and strawberries?
Maple syrup?

Pancakes? You're surely more of a crepe type.
Had them last night cos we all went to my mums. I had blueberries and chocolate chips.
I'll be making them in work today. I'll have lemon and sugar,
Crispy Pork Belly and chinese pancakes for lunch at this place near the office
What you having on yours Giggles? Potatoes & bullets?
The future of pancake day is dosas.
Gravy.
We eat these today in Sweden, not pancakes:
They are a bit shit really.
What's the beige goo in them? An apple puree it is it an oatmeal type thing?
It's like Marispan gooey stuff, sometimes they stick some hazelnuts in that as well.
Edit: thats the traditional ones anyway. Since I'm shit and allergic to nuts, if I do get these (which I don't), you usually get vanilla custard sort of thing in them instead, which frankly is better anyway.
Just not true. Let's keep this on topic and batter related.
Had pancakes on Saturday with the aim of fleshing it out into a pancake week, which sort of fell flat on it's face when it later transpired that my youngest daughter has a reasonably serious egg allergy.
Lemon, sugar, cook some raisins into them maybe, or go for that biscuit paste.
When I do have pancakes I like nothing at all on them as I quite like the taste of the batter mix. I like them to be thin too.
The thick ones you put in the toaster that are pre made, I like to butter them.
Remember when Kikó called clothes washing 'washing up'? And he's still allowed to make threads? This place is going to shit.
Anyway, I had no idea it was pancake day and I'm not fussed either. Its alright if somebody else is making them but they're not worth the effort imo.
Make it Offy. Do it for the board.
Last time I made pancakes I made them nice and thick and ate them with curry. It was stunning. Pretty sure pictures were put up on TTH, so you're not getting anything else pancake-related from me.
Giggles's perceived grievances are the best thing on here these days.
Maple syrup is the only answer for pancakes. Particularly from Vermont. Fuck, now I want some.
I have maple syrup when I'm over there (so about once a decade) and suddenly the depth of crapness that is American civilisation makes sense. You don't have jam or marmalade. Or crumpets.
What's this 'jelly' they go on about then, I always assumed that was jam. Albeit probably crap as they insist on silly flavours like grape which isn't a flavour of anything other than actual grapes.
Yeah I'm fairly sure they call jam jelly and for unknown reasons they call jelly JELLO.
The allocation of fruit based concoctions is confusing enough as it is.
Jello is another thing entirely. You don't want to know about jello.
They may call jam jelly, but I've never encountered any 'jelly' over there. Admittedly my experience is restricted to diners on route 66, and those breakfast places in New York that kill children out the back and serve their flesh as 'pastrami' in a five foot sandwich.
When I've seen 'Jelly' it would be closer in texture to a Cranberry sauce than a Jam.
That Giggles post made Adamski's one even better
We have the same as Maz's lot, but with jam instead of that gooey shit. Also I have maple syrup with bacon on my pancakes when I'm staying in a hotel with a decent breakfast. On Shrove Tuesday lemon and sugar all the way as you're having so many. Nutella is good too in moderation.
Don't they call it 'jelly' because it doesn't have any actual fruit in?
Any time I got 'jelly' in the US it was just like a more set jam.
What do they call jelly then if not 'jello'?
I'll just smear some nutella in them although I'll be making American style with grated apple, blueberries and chocolate chips tomorrow for breakfast.
Also, in Poland they have 'Fat Thursday' where you just eat a fuckton of doughnuts. They win.
Some with sugar and lemon and some with honey will do me nicely.
Do you all actually make them? How can you be arsed?
Jam and jelly are mostly interchangeable.
Difference is:
Jam is homemade and good.
Jelly is commercial and good only for horrible Elvis type sandwich crimes that should only be consumed when drunk or stoned.
Today is just depressing in the non-fat Tuesday Madris Gras world.

That's the base I use for the 'American' style I'll be doing tomorrow morning, crepes are piss easy too.
It fucking is not. Hammer reckons they're just Yorkshire Puddings, are you aligning yourself with that.
