You shouldn't. And that's reason enough not to watch it.

That said, the reasoning you've actually given there is undermined by the fact that you're going to watch Die Hard 5 instead, because point in the series everything unique about the original Die Hard had been stripped away.

But that's not half as big a diappointment as them stripping away what was great about Sherlock. It has been one of my favourite things on TV in years, Die Hard 5 is just another action movie that I enjoyed.

Saw the And Then There Were None mini-series, it was quite good. I read the book in Italian as a kid, so I knew who the killer was but knowing the ending didn't spoil the viewing at all. If anything I could concentrate more on the details that I forgot from when I read it.

Fargo Season 2 then. I'd happily put that up with the great TV seasons. Nailed it in almost every respect.

I've not seen the first, is it similar quality? I think the fact that it had the hobbit from the Office in it in a Fargo setting put me off at the time.

The second just about tops the first, but the first is exceptional itself and has one of the great TV characters and performances.

They're telling completely separate stories, so you don't need to have seen one before the other. They're linked through a creative team and a couple of characters, but they're set thirty years apart so the characters links don't affect the narrative much, if at all.

Decided to give it 10 minutes and it's very good the way they're tying it in actually.

Really wasn't up to much in the end. Still comfortably the best thing I've seen on the BBC in a long time though,

I really enjoyed it. Kind of had a feeling that it was going to be tied to the storyline, but it was done in a great way. Still doesn't answer everything, which with a year of waiting between episodes is kind of annoying.

I was also put off by Sherlock going back to the 1900s, although only because I knew it would mean the meta-joke filled dream sequence wankery it did. It was entertaining enough besides that, but obviously just buying some time until they think up some actual plotlines again.

Just started Making a Murderer. Is this meant to be about 'poor Steven'? Because he sounds like a cunt from the first fifteen minutes of the first episode.

Made a start on Making a Murderer. I'm about half an hour in and this already looks like an absolutely bonkers case. If the full ten hours keep introducing shameful shit at the same pace as the first half hour then fuck me.

@Cord - season 1 of Fargo is excellent, I can confirm. Found it difficult to come to terms with Matin Freeman putting on that accent, however. Billy Bob Thornton is magnificent in it.

Where is Fargo to be found? I remember Channel 4 having the second series so I assume it's not on Netflix then is it?

The Mrs actually signed up for it today so I must have a flick through and see at some stage, though I had a brief look through it and I presume it would have been front and center. Didn't even realise they still make that Spacey thing.

Ah right, I might have to look on the tablet then. She signed up on the Nexus Player but I don't think there's a VPN thing for that.
That's if the account is set up for multiple devices.

Just had a look through Netflix there and should be worthwhile for now as I've added Fargo, Making a Murderer, and Narcos to watch. Is Peaky Blinders worth a look too, even ahead of any of the others?

He's definitely a wanker, but fucking hell. Just... fucking hell.

It's a good thing they've got a young Paul Chuckle playing Bergner's mugshot on the flowchart thing or it might threaten to get a bit heavy.

Episode 1 done of Making a Murderer.

I've no idea how they string this out for 10 episodes, but that opener. Bloody hell. Quality documentary making.

I'm only 2 hours in and with 8 hours to go this is shaping up to be the biggest lol America ever.

My suspicions have been raised by the seemingly perfect amount and type of archive footage and his haircuts.

But, if you say it's real I'll go with that. Do I get 'Whoosh' immunity now though?

It is real, Yev. I'm at about the same point as you but I know enough of what surrounds it to know it's real.

I've been watching it the same way though, catching myself thinking of the people as 'characters' at times and trying to get ahead of it.

The archive footage is so comprehensive and so well put together (with no narration and minimal text) that I'm finding it impossible not to think of them as 'characters'.

Almost all of the 'archive footage' is from the documentary crew. They started the whole thing in 2003 as a documentary about the wrongful conviction.

What ep are you on Manc? Just a number will do, desperate to avoid spoilers. Which feels a bit wrong given the circumstances, but hey ho.

I'm halfway through episode 3 now and this has absolutely everything.
