Zaltzman, who I had never hard of, seems like great value.
I saw he was on it [TMS stats legend] but having him on the same one as R Jones is cruel.
In other terrestrial news I clicked BBC1 on earlier and celebrity masterchef was on and I thought fucking hell how have the BBC got Steven Seagal on it, but it turns out it's his Turkish/Laaandan doppleganger.
It's hard to tell if Jack Dee is genuinely unamused by Rosie, or if its just his act.
I can't imagine a synopsis less likely to draw me in than that. Maybe if she worked for a fashion magazine.Emily in Paris[a] is an American romantic comedy drama television series created by Darren Star for Netflix. The series stars Lily Collins as aspiring marketing executive Emily Cooper, an American who moves to Paris to provide an American point of view to a French marketing firm. In Paris, she tries to overcome challenges in her work, love life, and friendships.
Fucking hell. Born in Guildford and raised in Los Angeles. Doesn't get any worse than that.Lily Jane Collins (born 18 March 1989) is an English and American actress. Born in Guildford and raised in Los Angeles, she began performing on screen at the age of two in the BBC sitcom Growing Pains.
I actually meant to quote the post asking how people watch Rosie Jones there, but seems it still works.
Without wanting to go all old man shouting at cloud it definitely does feel TM has gotten much more 'Woke' with the contestants since Channel 4 took over. That's not to say all of those contestants have been bad either some of the best people on the show are often the people I have never heard of. But, Rosie Jones has the potential to make this unwatchable for me as there is just nothing about her that I have ever found funny.
I'll go more direct and say that it's possible she is funny, but I don't know because I can't understand a word she says.
Not funny is one thing, her being borderline incomprehensible is the real issue.
I think she is funny (and I can understand her) but her timing is obviously horrendous.
Also, she did co-write Sex Education which is a quality show so she's clearly skilled at that.
Then crack on with writing and stop ruining every panel show going.
I've got Disney free with my mobile contract. Any absolute musts? I'm thinking Shogun to start.
I'm enjoying Only Murders In The Building at the moment
Finished the second season of Sherwood last night and Monica Dolan is a truly brilliant actress. She makes you absolutely hate that character, and then realising where it was I recognised her from blew my mind a bit ("The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe" and "Appropriate Adult").
Emily in Paris has been good so far. She's broken up with the French bloke, but an Italian bloke has now turned up. Can sene there's drama afoot.
Having half watched it when looking up from my steam deck when any nudity is on screen as the wife marathoned it, the whole show seems to be trapped in the idea of her and and the French bloke being starcrossed lovers but whenever they get together they split within 2 episodes.
The three French people she works with are far better characters, Luc
The video that popped up on Netflix showed her in Rome. Is her name even Emily?
In an effort to just find something to watch I've taken a punt on The Strain recently and I can't decide whether I like it or not. Sometimes it's pretty well done, flat out horror with a pretty compelling set-up. Sometimes it's unintentionally hilarious nonsense.
It does have David Bradley as a grizzled old bastard lopping vampire heads off with a sword disguised as a walking stick though, so I'm sticking with it for now.
The Strain is class.
Bradley is clearly the standout but I thought all characters were great.
I'm only four episodes in but that one ends with Eph and the girl doctor in the house with the infected little girl and Dad about to get killed, and Bradley just rocks up out of nowhere tells the vampires to get fucked in some cool Eastern European sounding language and then lops both their heads clean off. What a lad.
So I'm now looking forward to them getting fully on board with his "kill the lot of them and burn everything" plan.
Watching Celebrity Catchphrase and Bradley Wiggins is on.
He's absolutely shit and he's clearly seething, he's barely even trying to hide it
Can’t tell whether this years slow horses is worse than the other ones or watching it week to week makes it worse.
Started The Bureau. It's French language but if that doesn't bother you, it's absolutely tremendous.
I haven't watched it for years, but still
Ken Barlow still going strong.
I couldn't get back into it when it came back, the time jump was just too much for me. He's aged remarkably well considering his initial character was basically ugly fat lad.
Meanwhile we get Tyrone Battersby.
Recently finished a couple of series, both different ends of the serious spectrum. Monsieur Spade is the semi retirement of Private Detective Sam Spade (Clive Owen) in a picturesque, sleepy town in France at the height of Algerian independence. It's a joint venture with Canal+ and AMC so the French actors are all well cast. The story just falls down because it hinges on a kid basically being the most important thing ever. Decent enough watch. 6/10. Second, The Perfect Couple is a new version of how the very rich are disconnected from reality and covers a murder at a beach house. Similar to The White Lotus so relatively brain dead fun. 6.5/10.
Back to Slow Horses.
Back in to the Shield. So good.
