And who paid the animals.
And who paid the animals.
So that's why we're in for Bas Dost. Because he's free.
What happened with Sporting? I haven't followed any of this.
Did the Ultras actually touch any of the players or staff?
What did he think that would achieve?
I think he was trying to teach them a lesson but in a ridiculously stupid way.
He sounds like a complete maniac.
No owner can be that stupid.
Wait until you hear about Leeds/Newcastle/Rangers/etc, etc.
Do you really think the financial mismagement behind those things is as much a product of outright stupidity as getting fifty tooled up nutjobs to burst into your training ground and batter several of your best players silly, ultimately resulting in a hundred and odd million quid worth of talent heading out the door for nothing with a strong cause of action against both chairman and club?
No poster can be that stupid.
Speaking of Rangers owners, did you see the guy that was trying to get compensation from them for being sexually abused. Apparently in this case, not any other case but definitely this one, it's a new entity and can therefore not be held accountable for previous companies behavior in it's name.
Berndt Leno to Arsenal seems pretty done. Dunno how much of an improvement he is on Cech or Ospina, but maybe a bit?
Can't imagine both of those two stay. They are a little too good to sit on the bench somewhere, but not quite good enough to start for a team like Arsenal (whatever that is exactly, these days).
Ospina will probably go. I can't seehim wanting to stay number 2 at Arsenal behind another new goalkeeper. Even though it hasnt affected his games for Columbia. I can see Cech staying for another season as the premier league goalkeeper and then moving on once again.
Issa Diop to West Ham official.
Wilshere leaving Arsenal. Everyone should be all over that. Assume he’ll go to Man City.
Would be perfect for us. Instead we have Ross Barkley. Wonderful.
Jonjo and Jack. Unfortunately, we'll wind up with Rodwell.
Wilshere is an interesting case. I would suspect the elite clubs would be interested but if he is being truthful about it only being about playing time, he probably needs to step down a level.
I can see him staying in London with West Ham and Palace. It would be great if Wolves could get him but thst is farfetche’d, especially since Afobe has gone.
Fabianski has gone to West Ham for 7 mil.
Buffon is expected to join PSG this week. When he announced he was leaving Juventus, I had him @12 to join Parma. Punk.
There's obviously something seriously wrong at Sporting, but I also can't help but think that a lot of these players (or more likely their agents) are being very opportunistic in 'releasing' themselves. OK, foreign no-marks with no connection to the club like Dost or whatever he's called, but Martins who's come through the youth ranks and Patricio abandoning the club he's been at for 18 years doesn't sit right with me at all.
If your boss had you beaten up I reckon your loyalty would stray somewhat.
Patricio had a transfer for money (something around the 18-20 mil mark) lined up only for the chairman to ask for an extra couple million once it was agreed. At which point he told the club to suck his chubster and left on a free.
Players have no business being loyal to their employers and vice versa. Sounds like they have been treated foul and they have figured out a way to ditch the club and walk away for free. Would something like this be written into their contracts?
Say that to Totti.
The normal thing to do is move around from team to team. Players becoming one-club-men (which I respect massively) is the rare thing to do and is not normal.
Emre Can is in Juventus for a medial and Roma are looking to sell Radja Nainggola to Inter.
Fred should be confirmed by Man Utd today.
The end of this transfer window should be pretty mad. Little done before the World Cup and the window shuts early doors in August.

Out of nowhere this one.
We've signed Jon Flanagan, the woman punching cripple. He looked quite good at one point so hopefully we can get him back to that.
It's going to be Roy Keane at Sunderland isn't it? Liverpool youth players and anyone deemed not good enough for Liverpool.
Sounds like it. Might be enough up there though if he can smuggle in a few of the better youth players on loan (Ejaria looked decent in the Championship).
I thought he would be about 27. Surprised to find out Fernandinho is actually 33.
And if anything, it shows you how bad things are when people who have played their whole careers at Sporting decide to leave.
Would you keep working for a company if your boss paid for you to get beaten up in your office?
I wouldn't.
Didn't you say the nutter was some elected role though? Like one of the Real or Barcelona presidents going mental? It's not his (their) team/club in those circumstances - or does he actually own the club? I understand there is obviously more to it in most cases, but it just strikes me as a bit of a dick move for players to abandon ship like they appear to be doing. When you look at the signing on fees available for players on frees I can understand it (didn't Can get £14m?) but I think you should call it what it is - opportunism. Surely the club must have some sort of hierarchy who ought to be fighting against such a disastrous course of action by the president if he is merely an elected bod.
I doubt he called a board meeting to discuss it.
You'd think there would be mechanisms in place to stop dictatorial behaviour ruining the club though, if it isn't actually his personal play-thing.
