Phew, that Paul Daley KO was something special, huh?
Glad to see Tito finish his career with a solid win.

I've never liked Tito Ortiz, but there's a certain poetry in him knocking off a name to end his career right before his birthday. His run after Chuck Liddell zapped him for a second time was worse than someone who'd been so good deserved.
Paul Daley is a huge twat, but the knockout was great.
Romero/Bisping to be made when Bisping recovers from his knee surgery.
Chris Eubank Jr was on Radio 1xtra today saying he's the man to make the boxing MMA crossover, that Conor McGregor is so desperate for Mayweather to do, based on the fact his dad sent him to jiujitsu classes when he was nine.

If he's actually any good at BJJ with that boxing ability he'd be a proper force, but I suspect he just doesn't grasp the level difference between say a blue belt and a properly high level black belt. He'd need to stop all that ducking in and letting punches glance off his forehead too or someone would just kick his head off.
Zombie.
Curtis Blaydes.
Even his name is badass.

Irish Sun have claimed that terms have been agreed for McGregor against Mayweather and there seems to be some fire behind that smoke. Lots of places are picking up on it now including the Washington Post:

I like both UFC and Boxing, but I'm no expert... however, surely if this is a boxing match, Mayweather will win hands-down, equally, if this is a MMA fight - McGregor will win easily.
Barring some exceptionally lucky shot (by Mayweather in an MMA fight) - this will surely be a complete non-contest.
That's exactly what anyone who knows anything about both sports has been saying since it was first mooted. The only issue I can see for Floyd in a boxing match is his age catching up with him.
Mayweather has more chance of winning in MMA (1%) than McGregor winning in boxing (0%) because Mayweather is hands down the best of the planet, whereas McGregor's mouth is better than his skill.

I guess the best thing the public can do is to not pay for the PPV. Unfortuantely, I don't see that happening.
Once you get a license to box (which I think McGregor got last year), will the NSAC sanction any fight - or do they consider relative skill? For example, would they consider allowing Mayweather to fight against someone making their debut in professional boxing?
I think the point Baz is making is that Mayweather may be able to land something before McGregor presumable takes him to the ground. I'm with Baz, it's probably something like 0.5% McGregor in boxing and 1% Mayweather in MMA.
They won't just sanction anything, but when it's someone with a high level fighting background they're not going to treat him the way they would any nugget getting their first boxing match. Fame and money play a part too obviously, but for example they probably wouldn't let Tom Cruise get in there and fight Mayweather.
I don't think Mayweather would even be able to throw punches at full power in MMA gloves, he's been breaking his hands in big puffy boxing gloves for years. So even if he did get the chance to throw, which he would because that pleb isn't going to go in and wrestle him, it wouldn't be the punch that wiped out Hatton. Whereas if McGregor lands something clean on Floyd in a boxing match, as vanishingly unlikely as that is unless age is a massive factor, it would be with that nuclear missile he keeps under his left glove.
You're as wrong as Baz is, for the above reasons.
That makes sense.
Tom Cruise would absolutely get a licence, he has the only two prerequisites required. Money and a pulse.
GSP is officially back with the UFC.
Word is that his first fight will either be winner of Thompson/Woodley or Bisping.
Yoel Romero has started a GoFundMe page to pay for the medical bills he anticipates Michael Bisping will have after their fight, so he'll look like a proper twat if he doesn't get it.
From this weekend;
How thoroughly fucking satisfying.
Stoppage in the Lewis v Browne fight last night was three or four seconds and at least five brutal punches late.
Also, the new UFC commentator who's replaced Goldberg used the non-word 'behemothness' in relation to Derrick Lewis, which should see his employment immediately revoked.

Fucking hell.Ex-UFC fighter Terry Etim was hospitalized on Wednesday after eyewitnesses reported that he threw himself against multiple vehicles in the Old Swan region of Liverpool, England, which is Etim’s hometown. The Liverpool Echo has the details on what is a truly troubling story,
It appeared he threw himself against as many as four vehicles, including three single-decker Stagecoach and Arriva buses. All except one were believed to be stationary at the time.
He was eventually restrained by police and taken to hospital. His condition was this evening described as serious.
My mates in Team KAOBON and he's temporarily deactivated all his social media. Too many people asking questions probably. I only realised cos I was gonna ask him if he'd heard.

GSP to face Bisping for the Middleweight title.
Also, this was lovely by Diego Brandao:
Khabib vs Tony Ferguson is off because that wanker Khabib couldn't weigh in.
Pre lims last night were incredibly good. That main event was cancerous though.
Edson Barboza is such a fun fighter. Lightweight division must be the best by an absolute mile.
edit: in saying that, probably a bit harsh on the WW.
Really looking forward to Mousasi this weekend. Hoping DC is knocked out but it'll go like the first fight. His head is a fucking brick.
Cormier fluffed his weigh in and wound up coming in bang on the limit two minutes before the deadline. I wouldn't be surprised if he can't push his usual pace, but it shouldn't matter with Rumble breathing out his arse after three minutes. Jon Jones reckons Cormier pushed down on the modestly towel to offset some of his weight and make the limit, and said it's 'one of the dirtiest things' he's ever seen in sport.
Rather looking forward to both the main and co-main tonight. In fact every fight on the main card has something to recommend it with the exception of Cynthia Calvillo and Pearl Gonzalez, and even that has the remote possibility of a Chyna style popped tit implant.
Cummins' moustache.
He might have a worse chin than Overeem.
The weigh in was bizarre. Cormier was something like 1.2lbs over... went away for 3 minutes, came back and weighed dead level. Rumble then came in and weighed 1.2lbs under (the insinuation being that the scales had been tampered with).
The towel thing looked dodgy too - but I'm not sure whether that would actually work.
The margins being exactly the same is a bit suspect.
Alves looked properly good there. I loved him when he was on his original rise to the GSP fight so hopefully he can get back to something like that sort of form.
How the Dickens has Eddie Alvarez wound up on the prelims at 211?
It's difficult to judge how good Calvillo actually is given how crap Tits Gonzalez looked, but she dominated that.
I wonder why Weidman thinks beating Mousasi will get him a title shot. He's lost two on the bounce going back about eighteen months, he should be winning at least three before he gets a look in.
What a shambles.
Joe Rogan having a pop at the ref when it took him about ten replays to work out what went on is excellent. Twat.
The producers have been terrible tonight. Showing the same corner on both sides of the split screen, putting the wrong round on graphics, and just now showing Rumble's information twice.

Fucking hell.
Deep Jewels sounds like a right wrong 'un website.
Anyone hear heard of Anthony Holmes? Apparently he was on the telly doing this shit and was unbeaten. I was chatting to his missus today.
BAMMA is live on Dave now. Apparently one of the bouts will feature some roaster from Geordie Shore who weighed in fifteen pounds over, but there are also a couple of title fights.
GSP/Bisping fight has been cancelled.
GSP told the UFC that he wouldn't be ready until October so they booked it for July to try and force him into it. He's standing still and the UFC aren't, thank fuck, going to hold the division for so long. Romero is going to step in but no date has been set yet.
Gastelum v Anderson Silva is off too. Gastelum's win against Belfort has been overturned and he's sworn never to fight in Brazil again.
Not particularly familiar with either of these main eventers but I've immediately taken to McDermott. He seems fun.
Fuck off Klaus.
That was great.
I'd missed the UFC signing up Justin Gaethje. He'll probably drop his debut, as highly touted fighters from other promotions always do, but 17-0 with 14 knockouts is a hell of a record and from what I've seen he looks like a proper force.
Great fight but more controversy with knees. Yay.
Alvarez should have been DQ'd.
JDS, Jędrzejczyk, Maia, Rodríguez and Jotko.
Not really bothered about who wins other than Maia.
Jesus that eye was fucking horrific.
Andrade's chin is ridiculous . Absolute maniac.

Bellator 179 is starting now on channel 5.
