Almost didn't watch that match, thought it would be dull. United look so much better with Martial up top, someone actually stretching the play a bit.

That De Gea save from Fonte was unreal.

Davis doesn't score so it wouldn't have made much difference.

We just lack that bit of class today. Hopefully Bertrand and Classie will make the difference.

Where do you see Classie playing? Behind Pelle or alongside Wanyama?

Hopefully alongside Wanyama with Ward-Prowse in front. Classie was bought as a Schniederlin replacement I think. That's if he ever gets fit again.

Was Romeu a bit of a panic buy in case Wanyama left? Because if I recall, Harrison Reed did quite well last season. Thought he might get more of a chance this time around, but he seems to be quite far down the pecking order.

Romeu Is squad filler really as we where looking like having a run at the Europa. I don't think Koeman rates Harrison Reed which is a shame.

Romeu will be useful if/when Wanyama gets injured or suspended as most our other midfielders are tiny.

Actually it's Deulofeu I'm thinking of. P3 is probably meaning Lukaku when he says Romelu.

Romelu Lukaku the big black Belgian striker and Oriol Romeu the white Spanish midfielder.

    Surely that can't be confusing.

Oh, I thought they meant there was a midfielder at Everton called Romelu who, unless he'd done anything notable, I would have got mixed up with Romeu.

Though I didn't make the leap to Lukaku at all which is probably worse.

My biggest concern this weekend isn't yet another shit result for us as hopefully Brent will be gone soon. It's Martial actually possibly turning out to be good.

Probably take a few days to figure out who Bob is.

    Absolutely.

I just hope we manage to score some goals and play some entertaining football before the season is out. Sadly, we're definitely going down. I guess there is the Championship to look forward to next season!

Just watching MOTD, that finish from Martin was lovely. So nonchalant, especially for a centre back.

Sunderland are doomed. The squad is rancid and there just aren't really any teams that are clearly worse. Certainly not three.

I wouldn't describe the entire squad as rancid. Advocaat has actually done some decent business this transfer window, signing Lens and Borini and loaning M'Vila. All three are quality players and a class above the majority of our squad. I'm not convinced by Toivonen but he offers something a little different to our other midfielders. He also managed to keep Defoe despite interest from other clubs, including a club close to his heart - Bournemouth.

Our big problems are in central defence where Kaboul can only motivate himself for certain games (like Tottenham at home), Coates is incompetent (despite good performances towards the end of last season) and O'Shea is a decent player but ancient and susceptible to injury. We really needed to sign a quality player in this area in the transfer window but failed to do so. When your best defender this season has been Billy Jones, you know you're in trouble!

Another 30 points needed for safety I think.

Would like to see Deeney get a goal, not only for him but to stop him holding the ball a little bit too long like he has been doing sometimes. Anya looked a lot better when Ake came on behind him although he was good against Swansea (bar the obvious mistake). I've been so impressed with Prodl and Nyom. Hopefully Jurado will get into the Prem a bit more as I can't see Flores dropping him anytime soon.

    You a ST holder Demerit?

    Aye I am, Rookery, you?

Deeney does need a goal as he's had a few chances recently where he's just held on too it too long or taken an extra unnecessary touch. Needs to score to get his confidence back and take some of these chances early. Whilst he's not scoring he is playing well though and has looked much better since Ighalo has moved further up the pitch.

I'd like to see Jurado dropped for the next week or two and test out Ibarbo or maybe Guedioura in his place. He just goes missing too much and I think a couple of weeks of watching others might help him.

Anya is doing okay at left back, away from home I think Holebas should be starting though, with Anya taking Jurado's role if Flores doesn't fancy anyone else there.

Nice to see Abdi coming into the right midfield role though.

Yeah great to see Abdi getting a go and playing well. Thought he may be another that would be moved on or not given playing time.

Not a ST holder as live in Suffolk but have actually managed to get to Swansea and Southampton this year so far and will be at Palace next week. I'm busier after September though but will try to get to as many as I can.

Agreed completely on your other points. I really want to see what Ibarbo can do but Flores doesn't exactly through them in early doors, plenty of the season left.

So many Watford fans getting ahead of themselves, I'll still be happy whatever happens if we stay up!

I'm surprised he hasn't given Ibarbo any time off the bench so far, although he seems pretty strict on what he expects from each individual role so maybe he just hasn't 'got it' yet.

Yeah safety is key, we'd end up on 57 points on current form, I think we'll get mid-forties and finish around 14th for me which I'd be delighted with.

Man City is the only game we've been outplayed in, so I think the fear factor (and resulting poor attacking performances) from the West Brom and Southampton games has gone now.

Sunderland boss Dick Advocaat 'would leave for somebody better'

Sunderland manager Dick Advocaat says he has no regrets about remaining in the job but will leave the post if he feels there is somebody better for it.
Advocaat was set to depart after keeping the club in the Premier League last season but was persuaded to stay and signed a one-year deal.
But his side are bottom, and winless, with two points from six games.

"Let's be clear, if I feel it is better for somebody else to take over then I will go. Believe me," said Advocaat.
Sounds like he's loving life up north.

All this quote shows is that he loves the club, which was proved by him crying when our safety was confirmed last season. He is passionate about the club and very open and honest. And he will do whatever is in the best interests of the club. Whatever happens this season, Dick Advocaat will always be remembered at Sunderland AFC.
