Spending a lot of time in my sons bed lately (oi oi) so finally binning his cot bed and getting him a big lad bed so I don’t have to lie like a prawn with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
After looking at and nearly falling for a few ‘good reviews cos they have a good referral scheme’ (after all, I am the master) mattresses, I’ve settled for a Silent Night Just Bliss mattress.
Will pick up a bed frame from Ikea tomorrow and then be counting down the days tomyhis new mattress.

Ikea must be, quite literally, the easiest physical shop to buy stuff from. They tell you exactly where everything is. Their cheap kids mattresses are a bit wank though.

I say it to everyone but if you don't care about looks, go for a refurb (from a reputable seller of course). For Ł400 you'll get a beast.

My Mum needs a new laptop as she seems to completely fuck hers up within a year or two before dragging it along for a further 2-3 years.

Well she fucked the hinge on one (I'm assuming by dropping it) and the shell(?) popped up exposing said hinge.
Most of the time it's just fucked with bloatware and general crap I guess.
Her current one the camera and/or microphone will barely work when she needs to use teams.
I'm not sure how she does it.
Laptops don't last that long in general. Have the replace the fuckers every five years or so.

Yeah I replaced my 2014 MacBook air with a 2021 M1 Pro last year. I'm not about Apple phones but they are the way to go on laptops.
Refurb from their site in the 1200-1600 range is what you want I reckon.
For someone who isnt great with tech, an Apple phone is the way to go but for a laptop. They can go fuck themselves. Shocking devices.
They're for tech bloggers and journalists, you can run fuck all on them.

I got the M4 Pro with the 24GB RAM. It's is outrageously quick and I don't think I've heard the fan once. I've not yet set-up my music stuff with it, but my last one ran Cubase like a sack of potatoes.

That refurb looks class and my Mum decided she would buy a refurb but she doesn't want that one as she doesn't like the keyboard (she has a Lenovo)...

It's really quite soft, so I reckon you'll need a firm mattress underneath (which is what we have).

Again that's down to the firmness of your mattress. It'd be like trying to shag on a water bed if you laid it over a soft mattress. I've no complaints with our setup.
