Defending is getting better, largely it seems through not actually trying to defend, more manoeuvring the midfielders and forwards to create a shield.
And to think the EFL TotS players were going for under 20k upon release.

What I really struggle with against the better players is their ability to seemingly change the flow of the game by custom/preset tactics.
I feel that mine were alright but I changed them to try and win a final but the team is now playing worse.
I hate that some seem to play an incredibly effective high pressure game yet when I try it, my defenders are pulled all over the place.
The guy I got Musa'd by was changing his on the fly and/or using the preset tactics to great effect.
Agree on the pressing, what the fuck are the settings to achieve that? Someone must know, surely?

I'm putting it down to laziness. I'm not XxFIFAGOD69xX but even I can do the reward players from SB. We've had three so far and all have been easy. Even better, if you do it and don't like your TOTS player, you can re-roll on a Tuesday.
I've spent less than 20k on the three combined. Just from SB rewards.

For this weekend, it looks like its going to be la liga tots. A few players are locks based on preditions. If you buy the gold card, once its out of packs they usually rise by 25% if they are in demand. Salah was 25k this time last week. Now he is 33k as his gold has been out of packs because of tots. Its work though buying, stacking and selling. I think I'm done with it now.

Actually I got Doucoure from the ROW thing but used him to save some coins on Gullit, wish I hadn't now.
I used a couple of my TotS on Gullit, but I've still managed to hang on to enough to do all of the SBC's for free so far. And the TotS I used were pretty unusable.
Also, whoever is the reward for a daily, weekly or dkt challenge. If he is an tots card. Buy the player he links best to as people will submit him in a sbc

Interesting to watch how you play though and one thing I couldn't get my head around is that everytime you broke you had players in acres of space whereas everytime I did (which was obviously much less) I ran into 5 players back and not once in the two games did I get in behind your defence down the middle.
Is that player instructions, custom tactics, a combination of both or something else entirely?
It's player instructions combined with their workrates. For example you can tell Balotelli to come back on defence but he'll do whatever he wants with his low/low.
Did you notice I played a different formation in both games?
Can't say that I did particularly, spent most of my time trying to frantically defend.
So how are your player instructions set and what's your thinking behind them?
I played the 4-3-2-1 you see in the load screen in the first game. The 2nd was 4-1-2-1-2(2) after that pause at the start.
In the 4-3-2-1, my front 3 at all set to get in behind and press back line. The thought here is, with all 3 having high attacking workrates, the runs will be constant and also layered.
The 2 outside midfielders I leave alone. Vidal and Nainggolan are beast high/high box-to-box midfielders, so I let them do their thing. I do though set Dembele to stay back whilst attacking. His lack of high attacking workrates means he will listen 90% of the time and be the first line of defence, or he'll be there for a pass to be recycled to.
I don't touch the CB instructions and the full backs are told to stay back whilst I'm attacking. This combined with Dembele is why you got that wall of 5. In theory I split my team into an attacking unit of 5 and a defensive 5.
The 4-1-2-1-2(2) is mostly the same, but for when I think I need a go-to man between the lines. Everyones instructions stay as above, but this time I have a CAM. He is told to stay forward.
If he can sneak in behind your midfield then he's in a perfect position to cause damage if I can get him the ball. As then he'll have a 3 v 3 or a 3 v 4. The strikers then try and get in behind and it gives you a choice. Cover their runs but allow Hazard to bear down on goal, or go out to take the ball of him. Either way space is being left to be exploited.
