I've had a couple of theirs so I've either seen 'em in a shop or had them delivered at some point. One was a collab with Stewart, the other was "Big Bunny" and apparently I liked both a lot.

Finished the rest of the Coronas now onto the red Peroni from Italy. Both beers are straight out of the freezer as the Western sun is baking my kitchen.

I have got some bottles of cooper ale from a brewery round the corner and think I will bin off Beer 52 to support them instead, especially with homebrewing now. Got a bavarian wheatbeer fermenting that will be bottling this time next week and a raspberry berliner kit queued up next. It is cheaper per pint if I don't count all the bobbins I bought to go with it like bottle tree, vinator etc

    What’s a vinator?

Got about 30 beers in now which should see me right for a bit provided I don't collapse into midweek drinking.

Bunch of Brewdog stuff and some Pilot ones still though there's a Pohjala dark thing in there that's the one I'm most excited for. That will be happening tonight.

How have you not collapsed into midweek drinking? The cold beer at six is in my top three reasons not to go off a bridge at the moment.

If I had cheap shit in the house I probably would have but it's all good stuff and I don't want to be going through £40 of good shit a week. Though to be honest I could probably afford it just now. Christ knows what I normally spend all my money on when I'm commuting to work because I'm saving stupid amounts just now.

Well if you're only drinking stuff that's underwritten by Lloyds of London then fair enough.

Yeah, a 5.30 relief beverage is an absolute must at the moment (and in less tempestuous times tbh).

Had a bourban aged barley wine from Pohjala tonight followed by a Brewdog collab with Evil Twin, a nitro imperial Vietnamese coffee stout. it's as ace as it sounds.

I'm on call for work so ideally I don't get any calls until some time tomorrow afternoon.

Picked up some Heaney stuff in a set at the weekend. Normally try to stick to Irish breweries if I can but they do some interesting looking stuff rather than the usual Pale, IPA, Lager, Red...

    https://www.heaney.ie/beer

There was also a couple from Wide Street who I never bought anything by before but one of the beers was a “Mixed Fermentation, 6 month aged, sour ale” whatever that’s going to be like.

I've cracked open a 'Cidre BRUT' which looks like it may have been bottled in the last millenium. Tastes pretty fortified/Cognac-y but not undrinkable . . .

I've finally lost it. Just cracked open my 5th Heineken of the day as I prepare to start my second Zoom pub quiz (having come stone last in the first one).

I have better stuff in the cupboard but I would be wasting it on times like these.

Of the day. Still utter shite in the second one as well. As someone who bases my whole personality around knowing more information than other people in any given scenario, everything is slowly crumbling down around me and alcoholism may well be the only answer.

Two groups in my life (family, and friends) each scheduled one for today and invited me.

Safe to say I'm not doing anything in a group at the moment.

How did they both deal with marking? People cannot be trusted to mark their own answers honestly.

The cidre was a poor choice and I sacked it off after I developed a mild headache, just over halfway through the bottle. It was a deep brown colour and there was a lot of sediment in it. :/

I wish I had matching tastes to you two, with all your recommendations of strong dark beers that taste like coffee and walnuts.

Give me a super-hoppy light ale any day. I mean I’ll drink anything, but they’re the ones I know I’ll like.

I couldn't be doing with dark stuff when I first got into it. And it hasn't even been an intentional thing of "I must acquire a taste for imperial porters!" or anything, I just kinda gradually gravitated there.

I think I've said in here before though that a good lager 100% has its place and ultimately anybody trying to tell anybody else what to drink wants to fuck off.

Unless it's Tennents, Fosters, Carling and maybe one or two others I've forgotten. If you're drinking those you're definitely in the wrong.

@Lofty What sort of ale do you go for?

@Giggles I'll give that list and their breweries a nosey when I'm looking to do my next order soon.

Just twatted a load of ale and now on some home brew, going down nicely. I always drink massively when it is the quiz with the in laws. Yes Brenda please ask me how many metres exactly Ben Nevis is in height when you couldn't pronounce the word 'notoriety' the previous question. That's a fucking tie breaker question not a standard question. Donned them all with my sports round.

I've been doing these wine tastings with a local place here, going through different countries. France this evening, Italy last week and Sith Ifrica before that. Some weird ones coming up too (Israel/Macedonia and some others have been mentioned). The guy does a Zoom call and talks you through it. He's super knowledgeable.

Red ale right now but a blonde wheat bottling tomorrow and a raspberry going on after. I generally avoid stouts but used to regular Guinness.

I've just been in Tesco and spotted a Vietnamese Nitro Coffee Porter. It's 9% and in the most overdesigned can I've ever seen, but it's intrigued me enough to buy six of them.

    Roaster Coaster.

I'm not enough of a beer nerd to be sure, but I think it's a collaboration. I know Brewdog is a distinct entity and the can says it's from 'Brewdog vs Evil Twin'.

I did wonder if it was that purely because I had a couple of cans of it in but all those things are regular enough on their own I thought it was possible two breweries had attempted something similar.

And yeah Evil Twin are from New York. I really like the Roaster Coaster.

I think they brew their stuff that sells in the UK in Scotland. There is Evil Twin Brewing and Evil Twin NYC Brewing who make pretty different beers. *takes off nerd cap*
