I'm interested in a keepers league for us in all serious. I probably don't have a fucking clue on how it works though.
How are we allocating the draft picks @Browning?

Yep, keeper sounds good to me. Can we backdate it so I can keep David Johnson & McCoy/Gordon?
This year draft picks will be assigned randomly by Yahoo half an hour before the draft.
Next year, assuming we're doing keepers, I'll have to use a random number generator thing to decide who drafts where (unfortunately Yahoo doesn't allow you to input keepers before you determine the draft order).
As for back dating.... it could be done if Gray Fox has access to the draft results from last year. If he doesn't, then we can't do it.
Edit- We'd also need the closing rosters.
Essentially he'd have to renew the league to let me get all the information from there, and then delete it. If it's already been deleted I don't think we can do anything.
Plus I'm no gentleman when it comes to fantasy football.
My plot to keep brother Julio fails miserably.
I'm plotting for a random league draft
I really want to start up a stupidly deep league with loads of specific scoring rules just to see what happens. Played around with the NFL custom leagues a week or two ago & you can add point bonuses at certain yardage markers & on big plays, and it looks the same on Yahoo, so the potential for something far too complex is definitely there.
Good news. I can see the full draft results and also peoples final teams.
Also, I'm pretty sure as league commissioner, @Browning can add/remove players from peoples teams after the draft. So if this went ahead, he could essentially fix any problems after.
Damn, because it's a new league, I can't set any keepers, at least I don't think I can. I'll keep looking but we might be stuck. Agreeing to leave them on the board definitely won't work as some people will surely auto draft.
Oh wait... I can, I just had to finalise the teams first. So we can do this, if people want to.
I don't really mind either way. I was looking forward to a full redraft, but on the other hand I'd get to keep David Johnson so it's not exactly bad for me whichever outcome we choose. How many keepers are we thinking of doing?
1-2 I think is best, at the cost of last seasons draft place?
I unfortunately can't see anything on the league page, so @Gray Fox would likely need to compile a list of who everyone had at the end of the season along with the round they were drafted in. Obviously anyone not drafted can be excluded.
If he's willing to do that then we can get some keepers selected, but I'll have to randomly determine the draft order shortly in able to help people make informed decisions (e.g. you probably won't want to keep your first round guy if you're drafting really early but might if you're drafting late, etc).
I can get that done tonight. It will take a little time as I'll have to screen shot all 16 rounds into here, but I can do it.
2 max is fair, I think. Are we still going with the expanded rosters though?
I'd suggest only 1 as people were unaware it was to be a keeper league when drafting. However I'm still good if you want 2.
EDIT: I'm going to do it 1 post at a time. I'll include the team the person drafted and the one they finished with.
1 or 2 is fine by me but 1 makes sense and up it to 2 next year possibly.
I was going to do this with all images, one post at a time, however text will be easier so I'll do that. I can provide picture proof of everything if needed. Some people really have a tough call to make if it is limited to one, others not so much. In last years draft order, peoples eligible keepers are as follows. The round you will lose this year is next to the player.

So I can choose any one of those by my name and the one I keep I lose that round in this draft, right? So if I keep Green I lose my first, Rodgers I lose my third, etc.? And when d'you we need to decide? I've not done my sheet yet but I've got my first draft tonight so I'll be good to go soon.
Also, I just got an automated thing about our NFL.com league.... I assume I can safely ignore that?
Man, some of those are sickening
Did I really draft David Johnson in the first round last year? He hadn't done anything before that, right?
EDIT: Looks like that's where he was going. I had him & McCoy flipped in my head. Anyway, are we finding out the draft order before we choose our keepers, and are we definitely going with one?
Yes, we will go with 1 I think this year, and discuss upping it to 2 next year.
I'll put the names into a randomiser in a moment and post the draft order.
How does Pleb only have 1 eligible keeper? Keep in mind you don't have to have drafted the player yourself, you just need to have them on your roster at the end of the season... is that what you've done @Gray Fox ?
This is the order that was randomly selected:
Mert, Baz, Dan, Ian, Limoutsonik, Me, Mahow, Gray Fox, Bruh, Pleb
Same first pick as last year isn't ideal, but that's what came out, so can't argue with it.
Fate seems to like me drafting in 5th/6th this year.... it comes out in EVERY draft. I would love to be able to try somewhere else, but oh well.
Shit,i am working on Saturday and i am going to miss the draft.....FFS.... Do you have any replacements lying around because i don't want my team to be autopicked.
Only the guy from last year, which could work as we're doing a keeper league, but I was going to offer you one of his keepers anyway as it's only 1 team out and 1 in.
It's up to you.
Not sure how I could do it where people know before choosing their own, so probably not.
I'm awaiting confirmation from @Gray Fox as to whether that is the complete list of potential keepers, or only people who drafted someone and kept them all year.
We'll only have a couple of days either way I would think. People can make their keeper public if they want, or PM it to me.
Yea, that doesn't really work to do it that way, as it would mean anyone that was traded etc automatically lost all keeper value.
We still only need the people who were drafted, but if say Dan drafted him and then Pleb picked him up later he should still be allowed to keep him (Pleb that is).
So we'll await the final list, and then I'll probably allow 2 days or so to confirm this so we know the state of play slightly ahead of the draft.
Evans for a third?
Why I don't mind if I do.
Yeah no worries,i will back out.Bring your guy in.It just wasn't meant to be unluckily.
Another reason we switched from NFL.com. It doesn't keep track via the player info tab where they came from. It means I'm going to have to manually check each player against the draft results.
I could just post a screenie of peoples final rosters, it wouldn't have round taken against the players name, but it's far easier for me too look up one or two players, than the full 155.
I've updated post #319 with a screen shot of everyones final roster. If anyone sees a player not listed above with round taken, post it in here and I'll get back to you when I come back from work.
The good news is Yahoo will track all of this for us going forward.
I guess I'll enquire about these for myself and Fay's Fall Guys (I'll have to message him his keeper list as he's out of the country currently):
Emmanuel Sanders
Randall Cobb
Theo Riddick
Jordan Howard
AP
Petroupoli Rockies is/was my team.
AP went in round 1? Seriously?
Howard won't be eligible if he wasn't drafted at all....
Was he really that high last year?
Oh well, either way... not great options for me there, but I'll look into it more.
Yeah Cam Newton was a R1 guy last season too. I mean Mark Ingram went before LeSean McCoy and DeMarco Murray last year too.
Draft results can look funny looking back on them.
Newton was a R1 guy in as much as Charles was....
AP was a little high but still a first rounder.
Newton, like all QBs aren't first.
I'd like to vote for 2 keepers personally.
This is what you want, Dan:

Not really looked at it, but heard it advertised and it sounded mental.
I've just done my VBD sheet for my other league and it has David Johnson waaaaaaaaaaaaaay out in front for 1st choice. Top picks after that (not in any order) are Rodgers, Tyreek Hill (we have return yards), Lev Bell (who is a comfortable 2nd), Devonta Freeman.... are Johnson / Bell as a 1/2 right? Does it sound like I've fucked my other baselines? I feel like I might have...
How much are you getting for return yards?
Seems hefty if Tyreek Hill is so high.
Johnson and Bell are definitely the 1-2 RBs, but I'm not sure why you'd be questioning that?
