Might suck to live there, I do not know. The nice thing with visiting is that they have a lot of museums (Air and Space Museum) and they are all free. You also have white house, capitol, etc. Georgetown right next door is nice and food is good.

My family are about an hour outside DC and I've always enjoyed it. Indeed the Air and Space Museum is awesome.
