Just stay at home then. The lack of option is the problem.

I wouldn't wait forty minutes for a course of chemotherapy, let alone a table at Pizza Hut. You were never going to enjoy it after that sort of stupidity.

    Society isn't your problem.

It's like all the gobshites here that went out to protest a shopping centre being open on St.Stephens (Boxing) Day because "it's a day for family". So they either left their family for the day to go to a protest or they dragged their family to a protest for the day. Staying at home and forgetting about it never entered their offended heads.

What need is there for big supermarkets to be open at 10pm on a Sunday evening? They're open 24/7 every other day and if that isn't enough for people, and they can't get whatever else they might need at their local shop that's still open then they probably deserve to starve or not be able to buy a bargain HDTV on a Sunday night or whatever.

I'll join Giggles in lolling at shops that close early on Sundays.

Have your consumerist free days some other time, Sunday is easily the most convenient day to buy weekly groceries.

There's just as much 'need' for them to be open then as any other anti-social time they're already open at.

24-hour supermarkets are a strange thing. Do they really sell much at 2am on a Tuesday?

I used to walk home from clubs in Swansea pissed as a fart and roll into the 24 hour Tesco to buy 24 packets of frozen chicken nuggets and a loaf of freshly baked bread.

No idea on the numbers, but the one near me has a fair few people milling around it at that time in the morning. Taxi drivers, people on twilight shifts etc.

Friday and Saturday nights are probably good business.

i'm sure they do get a few sales, otherwise they wouldn't bother. Sucks for people having to work those shifts.

Those shifts are the dream, and it's great having some shops to suit.

Aye, when I did the Asda night-shift there'd be 20 or so of us restocking anyway, which would be the case whether or not it was open to the public. I'm guessing it doesn't cost a lot more because they'd only ever have one person milling about by the checkouts. Over the entire shift you'd get more customers than one would perhaps imagine.

I guess I'm the only one who likes sleeping.

Good point about the restocking, if everything is going to be on anyways might as well just have one person on the register.

The customers would be an interesting mix. A fair few drunken people like sama coming in for junk food and fags and the like. More often than I'd like they'd be people I'd actually know, so I'd get a lovely chat about their night not restocking freezers in Asda. Others included people who'd just finished bar shifts getting their 4am dinner, scary alcoholics to whom we'd have to politely explain we couldn't legally sell them alcohol after 10pm. Sometimes you would get whole rough looking families, including young children, arriving at 2am on a school night and it was a bit gross.

I do too. Only 3 or 4 work sleeps a week is great though.

They don't even need one on a register now, just someone restocking/mooching around near the self checkouts.

I used to go to Asda around 2 in the morning, it was grand. There would be about 10 people there and instead of dickheads stopping to chat with someone you'd just have massive pallets of shit to go around.

Did you have those two food items together in one sitting once you had returned home pissed? Not sure they'd go.

Also, if i'm pissed coming out a club (haven't done that in ages ) then burger and chips from a kebab shop is more to my liking.

Finally found a place in this kip of a city that does them in a naan and not a miserable pitta.

Nope, the bread I'd have picked the insides out of and fit the crust onto my hand to wave around like I'm a robot. Half of the chicken nuggets would be found the next morning burnt in the oven, the other half left ontop of the freezer.

Hell yes, nan always over pita.

My after work London work piss ups (again, quite rare) always serve up pitta kebabs.

ps. getting an Indian takeaway for one tonight. Big step.

Joke might work a little better had he not spent most of the last page chucking around s at any mention of curry.

I'm thinking...Chicken dansak, pilau rice, and a keema nan. Maybe some bhajjis if i'm feeling greedy.

Had a bhuna the other nice. Don't recomend it, was pretty tasteless compared to other curry dishes.

The lovely mild one I mentioned having last night a few posts up really puts the tin hat on it too, but why let that get in the way of the party line?

I love a dansak. The local place has the sauce similar to the pathia but both are too good to mind.
