Had a light bulb moment with this. Went onto Discord on the browser and it logged me straight in. I thought well that must mean that somewhere my password is saved. Went into the passwords section of Chrome and copied the one down for Discord there into my phone app and bingo. We have sign in.

Forgot to leave the fucking bin out last night. Cunts were there at the crack of dawn today, of course, so I'd missed by the time I realised this morning.

Some cunt had put a bag into mine a few weeks ago when I left it out the night before.

Unless you pay by weight, which I do. I just fucked it in the ditch across the road, so hopefully they left some identifying details in it.

They weigh everyone in the street and charge the fatties more, stands to reason they must eat more/make more rubbish.

I knew a bloke who dumped his bags in the public bins on the street. If you're paying by weight, you could FIGHT THE SYSTEM by doing that.

I suppose in the middle of nowhere it will work fine. The system probably wouldn't function as well in Hackney.

When I walk down the road and cross the bridge from Surrey into the London borough of wherever it is (Richmond, probably) they put their rubbish out in open plastic tubs, rather than bins. Glad I live south of the river, or all the neighbours would know exactly how much cheese I get through.

The flats round here don't have enough bins for the occupants, so people leave bags next to the bins, and seagulls/foxes tear them open. Throw a bit of wind in and half the town ends up looking like a favela.

The local tip once tried to charge my dad to get rid of some bathroom tiles and he took them home and spent months putting a few in each regular bin bag, if they weighed his rubbish I reckon he'd have been using public bins for years.

I don’t want to fight the system, I want to just pay for my own rubbish.

It’s hardly a mind blowing concept. The more rubbish you dump, the more you pay. Unless it’s recycling which is a fixed price for the year.

It's completely new to me. I don't think we have anything like that here.

How do they weigh it and know who to bill for each bin? Assuming they scan something and the hooks that lift the bin also weigh it?

The lorry scans and weighs the bin as it lifts it.

Edit - or yes, begorrah etc for Jimbo.

I've never come across such wizardry either, but when you think about it it's a much fairer system and a piece of piss to administer one would imagine.

Yours is probably a lot cheaper because it isn't done. It's all privatised here (apart from Dublin city council). They all have cameras on the trucks too where you'll get a warning notification on the app with a photo if anything is picked up in the recycling bin that shoudn't be there.

All the houses round is have four bins for general waste and then different sorts of recycling. The shared bins for our flats, however, only come in two varieties but are picked up by the same bin men on all the same days so round here at least the whole thing is clearly a bit of a sham.

On green bin (garden waste) days the bin men just pour the other sorted recycling containers (one for cardboard and glass, another for paper and another for plastic and tins) into the green bin anyway, before the lorry dumps it all in the back. Why waste our time?

They would pull out all the stops for bins. Remember them using anti-terror legislation to enforce the rules like some high New Labour parody bit?

We don't have binmen in the Netherlands. You have to walk your rubbish to a street bin a whack it down the hatch. Shambles of a country

In theory there is a lot to be said for having a big bin at the end of the street, but only if they get emptied once a week, otherwise you end up like Brighton with an exploded landfill on every street corner.

It's mostly ok, but it's not well organised in parts. Like we have bin/paper/plastic nearby in one location but then glass is the opposite direction

Most of the houses around me seem to have communal bins as well which are collected weekly. Except for glass which you need to find a bottle bin nearby. The homeless here are constantly picking into the bins because it contains free money with cans and some glass being worth a few cents.

I'm not really sure why you think I'm so rich. I've got a well paid job but so do many people on this forum. Not like either of my parents have a pot of cash - my dad's a glazer and my mum's unemployed. My grandparents were working manual labour jobs, I have no silver spoon.

You may not be rich, or have had any silver spoon, but you act like you have. There’s lots of big shots around the place but if you’re always looking down on people then there will never be anyone to catch you on the way back down to meet them.

Really? My biggest takeaway from Amsterdam the other month was the binmen still working at 10pm at night at the weekend. Unless they only pick up the rubbish in the main touristy bits.

Just tentatively asked on the Zealand discord if people are still giving FM 22 suggestions. I get "yeah, if you tell us what you need help with", and notice I can only message every 10 minutes in that discord. I feel like Homer after asking your man if he's REALLY head of the kwik-e-mart.
