Apparently this is more topical than I imagined as 'top bin' (and top bins) was (were), apparently (according to Soccer AM twitter at least) added to the OED last week.

The adjective form - ‘top bins’ - is also described as “in the top corner of the goal”.
I can't find the video anymore but when 'Soccer' first broke through in the States and some commentator said that 'he blasted it into the upper 90' is burnt into my brain. Upper 90? It just makes so little sense as a way of describing the goal.
This is very niche but Ken Early of Second Captains doing 'Champions League Weekly' style dubbings of Egyptian Commentary of Salah was so good.

The 90 degree angle makes a lot more sense than describing it as a bin, though that’s not exactly a stretch.
I found the clip and because I'm a nice guy I uploaded it. Mostly because I'd forgot how funny the phrase 'Inspect the damage' is. Arabic is such a good language.
