I was losing interest anyway. The board has been becoming less active (or at least less active in relation to things I wanted to post about) and was a bit of a time sink. Just a distraction from doing anything else. The WhatsApp group is a more convenient distraction in that it's instant, and it takes less time to indulge in.
I'd have stopped posting at some point. I thought about doing so a couple of times over the summer but never relly had the willpower. Then it just sort of happened naturally when I was invited into the group. There's no weird calculated "KILL THE BOARD" thing going on. The place has just had its day for me and I suspect it will be gone competely within a couple of years. The membership is shrinking and what's left just seems to thrive on bitterness and negativity. It's a shame as it was brilliant in its day, but its day has gone.

It became less entertaining so I stopped using it. I don't see it as being my responsibility to maintain the place. If I tv show I watch goes to shit I don't write in with new scripts. There's no scope for improvement anyway. It's all the same recycled opinions on stuff.

It's a 'form of entertainment' that depends on your contributing, so your telly analogy would only work if your programmes started going to shit on account of you closing your eyes and muting them (which may be fitting if you have only just noticed a turn towards negativity).
We should set up a 5-a-side tournament with Team Refuge, Team LadBible, Team Spreadsheet/Autism etc.

First part is a good point but doesn't necessarily need to be in a negative way. They're all fairly nice guys so I can imagine it being quite complimentary and civil.
The real charm of this place is when a normal human suddenly finds himself balls deep in a conversation about who was the best ninja mutant turtle with one of the spackers.
