Got my Pikachu. Caught a Voltorb on the way back and a Weedle feet from the door. There's a bunch of spots within maybe 500m of each other and two gyms pretty much next door to each other, both owned by the red team. One of the spots I stopped at, gave me a 5km egg, so I look forward to hatching that at some point. My only problem is my data usage limit of 2GB. Has anyone noticed what amount of data, all day PoGoing uses up?
I have a few injured Pokemon on low health. How do I use a potion on them to heal?
Click on a potion in the items menu then choose the Pokemon you want to heal. You get potions randomly from Pokestops.
One thing I only found out last night - if you own a gym (or more) you can go into the shop and claim 10 gold coins and 500 stardust. Can only be done once every 20 hours so you have to time it right.

Catching shit gets very difficult once you're around level 14. Even shit like Eevee is running away from me now. Saw a ??? Clefable spent ten minutes trying to catch it but it finally ran.

Pidgey is the best for levelling. Use a lucky egg for double exp then keep evolving the bird, only needs 12 candy.
Yeah, I have been catching all day and then evolving all at once in the evening with a lucky egg. Easy to gain a couple of levels a day.
Had a busy morning. On the way to the pool I picked up about 10 Pokestops worth of goodies and caught a bunch of Pokemon. Strongest was a 60CP Magnemite, other noteworthy catches include an Abra and Zubat. Need another 3k exp for level 5, not that I'll be in any way ready to take on the local gyms just yet. Best game ever.
Got myself a 118 cp Jynx yesterday.

Still have a long way to go mind you, a lot of the gyms around here are pretty strong.

Lucky Egg doubles exp gain for 30 mins I think. Not sure Pokestops drop them, but you can buy them in the shop.

Despite living on the coast, I have an abundance of Electric types and not a single Water type. Also caught myself a CP22 Electrode and hatched a CP19 Diglett. The rest are dull and boring.

Those are my lads. Haven't done any powering up for a few days because I spent a load of stardust levelling up a Drowzee and then the Hypno it became, then a day later I caught a higher level Hypnoso I'm currently just saving up my stardust.

Evolve shit like Pidgey and Rattata as they only take 12 candies and you can get that easily. Don't evolve anything that costs a lot of candy until later on when you know what you want to train.
Yeah, evolve the shit that is cheap that you get loads of (rattatas and pidgeys) or evolve stuff where the cp bar is almost full because they'll have awesome cp.

I had a Machoke run away after my first throw failed, despite a Razzberry and a Great Ball.
I'm only level 15 but I've been spanking the gyms. They're really easy anyway, just swipe after the screen flashes yellow.
Gyms are piss easy to take over, but that leads to me never holding them for any considerable amount of time either.

I've just got to level 5 on this and picked my team. I guess this is where the game properly starts?
I've not actually read up on anything yet, so I guess I go off to the gyms now?
Caught a solitary 10CP Horsea and absolutely fuck all else. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
There's basically never a good time to go to the gyms, they're not really worthwhile, unless you want to stock up on coins and a bit of extra stardust.
I just do it because I like walking past and seeing me and my Pokemon King of the castle.
It is but you only get 10 coins per gym, and some can take a while to take atm, with all the lagging and crashing. Time's better spent just doing anything else.
So, after finally catching a Magnemite today, I came to think of how many of the more "common" Pokemon that I haven't even seen once yet. Neither these nor any evolution, not even as "nearby":
Sandshrew, Ekans, Vulpix, Diglett, Grimer, Koffing, Onix, Cubone. Quite a few there that I want to get.
Would love a Farfetch'd as well.

I on the other other hand have Magnemites coming out of my ears. They should hurry up and patch in trading.
Went on a longish walk this morning to a lookout tower which turned out to be a gym. Caught more than 30 Pokes and rose to level 7. New entries in the Pokedex include Ekans, Seel, Doduo, Oddish, Staryu and Drowzee. Still nothing as cool as AD's Jynx.
I have no idea how people are managing to get anything of a decent level given that about 50% of the times I try and play it doesn't connect, and when it does connect it tends to freeze and chuck me out whenever I catch anything. I lost a Venonat yesterday that would have been my 3rd highest.
Oh well, I'm off to the shops later where I caught me highest CP to date on Wednesday, so here's hoping for some good stuff again.
