Being able to manually force a player to go for a header is so unbelievably overdue.

It's a small and stupid thing but calling it FC made me think it was the new UFC game.
They should have called it SOCCER 24.
Even something as simple as keepers having 5 ways to go on a penalty now instead of 3, is a good improvement to see.
It's nice that they're going to accurately mirror some move Haaland did one time, but it'd also be nice if you could start a simple one on one match without going through five menus and having it completely erase all your saved control settings.

Caught a bit of that and my first thought was evolutions will be dead before they've started if the highest upgrade you can initially make to a card is to raise it to 80 Overall.
I'd guess it's locked by season or something? So S1 = up to 80, S2 = up to 84 etc. They will probably only worth it if you pack Mbappe etc., rather than trying to get Tom Heaton to be Buffon's regen
There are requirements that have to be met before you can evolve a player so they're not going to let you evolve anything but shitters until we're well into the game cycle. An 80 on launch is borderline unusable, even worse if it takes 2/3 weeks to get them there as it's time barred.

Done some Redditing and apparently UT is not available until 6pm tonight.

It has many, many, many hours to go and it seems to be getting slower.
Played a couple of SB games and I think it's pretty decent. Although I assume the first patch will break it as always.
The quick menu in UT via L2 is huge.

Lots of new stuff on the game today. The evolution stuff looks like it might be fun.
If I am reading it right you can take someone like Mainoo from a 62 to 78 in 3 games and then get him into the 80 with the next evo.
Seems like a nice way to get peoples fav cards into the game even if they are off meta
A good time to start, is at the start of TOTS. The Pro Clubs game are not interested this year, so I may hold off until then.

Team is already 85-rated, which for day 2 (?) is pretty decent going.

Very tempted to pick up a Series S with the game bundled in. Still running my ancient Xbox One which takes an age to load anything and sounds like a jet at take-off.
What's the gameplay like so far? No doubt they'll patch it a few weeks in anyway...
Have seen a lot of people say the playstyles are really impactful and a great addition but that finesse/trivelas are broken (again), defending is very hard (always is at the start while people learn) and keepers are shit (they look embarrassingly bad).
Evolutions are getting raved about though.
Pretty much what Danny said - it's very much last year's game but with a bit of a twist, rather than anything radical. Lots of QoL changes too. I'm enjoying, and I think if you liked previous versions you will.
I really think the Evo stuff could be cool, especially if you support a team who don't get many specials. You can build more a team that is specific to you.
Well as I missed out last year, I've bit the bullet and gone for it, complete with the new Series S. Looking forward to jumping on on Friday and starting the grind again. Now to plan what Fulham players to evolve...

Ive requested something like that before. Take a player o your choice from start game, and make him 99 by game end IF ,you meet all the criteria.
Not a bad start - in my first pack (a bog standard Silver Pack, no less), earned for doing some menial objective for chemistry, I've packed an IF - 80 Taylor from the MLS. Looks like a great early game card.
Went through a ton of Squad Battles yesterday to work on the Evolutions players and get up to speed with the game. I was able to get up to Gold 2 and in my tradeable rewards this morning I've packed Sandro Tonali (96k) and a bloody Hero card, Diego Milito (65k). I debated keeping Milito but the funds will be really helpful and I can always buy him back if I fancy trying him out. I've got a good chunk of coins to work through some of the player SBCs now.
I keep packing decent players on this. Benzema the latest. Will probably nab Kante to get him into the team. Courtois appeared too.
Also: Squid Battles rewards blessed me with a tradeable Diani, so I'm up to 200k now. Need to start turning it into investments
84 RTTK Reyna is in the club. Also completed Boniface for buttons, but he's not been particularly good in the few Squad Battles I've used him in so far.
I decided to go a bit left-field for my Founders Evolution choice. Rather than go for a meta player like Danjuma, Fati or Nunez, I went for 83 Laura Freigang for a bit of fun - her regular card has been great to use.
