That was the programme I think. Some of the black folk were as bad as the white divs. One woman in particular was one of the most offensively racist people I think I've ever seen.

It's been announced today that a factory in my town is closing down and will be gone by mid 2018. Probably one of the largest employers in the town and this comes within a year of another large factory announcing it was closing down too. Two of the largest employers with decent manufacturing wages in the town closing down within a year of wach other. This place is going to be a proper depressing post-industrial wasteland soon.

If I'm vocally proud about being a white person, what does that say about me? It says I'm proud that white people enslaved and discriminated against other races and nothing else.
However, if I'm vocally proud about being a black person, that says I'm thankful that my ancestors overcame slavery and discrimination and fought their way into being considered equal to white people in society.
The only context I ever see references to 'black pride' is in lame attempts to give poor kids a bit of self-respect. I think if you're so desperate for self-esteem that you have to be proud of your race then you've got bigger issues that need solving.

I'm thankful my ancestors invented nearly everything good the world has to offer. That's clearly an absurd and hugely ignorant statement. Even were it the case, which it isn't, the same could be broadly said of any race. No 'race' is responsible for great race relations.

It probably is ignorant, as in some far corner of the internet will be an example of white people doing good things with regards to race. But the general consensus is very bad. Slavery was bad. Not letting black people sit down on buses was bad. Any positives aren't well known and aren't the reason why people are proud to be white.

White people have much more money than black people, on average, which is the difference, not the skin colour of various good and bad people historically. You don't need to feel proud of arbitrary things if you have enough cash to be proud of your gold plated speedboat instead.
