    Yeah, I saw that earlier.

    Look officer, it's not a bomb, it's a gender reveal device . . .

The death is the latest in a string of catastrophes to be linked to gender-reveal parties in recent years.

They can include prediction games, with the "big reveal" being made with fireworks and coloured smoke grenades.

But several large-scale parties have gone wrong, even resulting in several deaths.

A man from Michigan was killed earlier this month after he was struck by shrapnel from "a small cannon type device" fired during a baby shower, police said.

Two other gender-reveal parties were blamed for sparking wildfires in California in September 2020, and Arizona in April 2017.

He appeared on the coverage on Sunday night as he was tournament 'host' and was quite obviously jacked up on painkillers again. Eyes were completely gone. Everyone said it at the time as well.

I read some American story about Facebook a while ago that featured Nick Clegg, and it treated him as if Deputy Prime Minister was some major role that made him the second most important person in the government, and then it struck me that that is what Facebook must think.

Yep. They'll think it's the same as Vice President and definitely not something that was invented out of necessity to cobble a government together.

Vice President is a nothing role as well though, so it's pretty comparable.

TBF, all good bluffers build up their CV to make it look like they were more important than they actually are.

That gives you eleven years to decide whether to just have one big 'Welcome to Country' at the start (as Billy Moore lights the Olympic flame) or one before every single event.

Don't really see the point. Presumably it comes with attachments to make it into either a 'Mr' or a 'Mrs'.

Unpopular opinion I imagine, but I think it's wrong to do that to someone who was 15 when they made that decision and when it's very well known how predatory and brain-washing groups like ISIS can be. If the situation were picked up before she left I'd imagine she'd have been treated as a vulnerable individual and it would've been a safeguarding issue rather than criminalising her. Left and married a Dutch recruit as a 15 year old? She couldn't even legally consent to that in the UK.

Lol at the assertion she's a significant national security risk.

Isn't this just a technical point about her being allowed back to challenge the decision, rather than a substantive endorsement of what was a pretty shabby thing for the government to do?
