I swear the only people I share my English surname with is Indigenous people from Western Australia. Im sure the women were all married in to the family and not how's ya fathered in.

Brooke Blurton is the first; will a bisexual Bachelor be close behind?

    https://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/cul...JsN9pA2-RCn5L4

In Blurton, it gets two jolts for the price of one: the 26-year-old West Australian is of mixed-race heritage, with an Aboriginal-Malaysian mother and a white father and, to the best of Innes’ knowledge, that makes her the first First Nations person to front the franchise anywhere in the world.

Imagine being rattled by this, or it even registering to you as a thing.

I too hate being called “mum” in medical appointments. Even as a cis woman, it forces you to choose between being an adult, with your name in the notes right there, and a biological function with clothes on (ideally)

columns are churned out in a matter of minutes, with no loftier goal than meeting a deadline and filling up space — meaning that columnists will often resort to using the same words or phrase again and again and again and again and again. And rather than doing any original writing, the slothful columnists will rely on so-called “experts” to supply them with quotes to fill up space, experts say.

“They’ll often quote people you’ve never heard of,” says Harold Crimmins, an expert in the field of filler columns. “It’s pretty shameless.”

And in order to fill up space even faster, Crimmins says, the lazy beach-bound columnist will compose his summer “filler” columns with short paragraphs.

Many of these paragraphs will be as short as one sentence, he says.

    “Or shorter,” he adds.

There are other telltale signs a reader can look for in order to determine whether a writer has, in fact, filed a so-called “filler” column, according to Crimmins.

    Ban columnists.

Another suicide bombing at an Afghan mosque. If it's ISIS (or a splinter of ISIS or whatever) doing them were they doing this before the US pulled out or is this a renewed anti-Taliban thing?

ISIS-K have been fighting the Taliban (and everyone else in the region) for years, they're both Sunnis but that does not appear to matter.

New Taliban seem a bit more tolerant of the other sects, having oppressed them all last time round, but the ISIS wallies still want them all dead. They're probably just an easier target at the moment, since their areas won't be quite as heavily policed/networked as where their main support is.

There was an interesting article about how a lot of the taliban guys got frustrated after the deal because they got transferred from shooting people in the head to effectively systems administrator. They weren’t interested in the goal they liked the war.

Is that so? Interesting. Is this part of their attempt to seem like, actually lads, if you get past the hatred of women and fun and sex and tolerance and stuff, we're actually a load of totally rad dudes and you should just fuck off and ignore us yeah?

Or an actual shift in their leadership where they've realised that sectarianism is possibly the most demented form of bigotry?

Speaking of Afghanistan Scummo and mates have left 100+ Afghans to fend for themselves on PNG. A place where the locals have been known to still cut peoples heads off for banter.

Asylum seekers in PNG say they feel 'abandoned' by shift in Australia's offshore detention policy

While Australia will end its offshore program in PNG, processing will continue in Nauru.

"Anyone who attempts to enter Australia illegally by boat will be returned or sent to Nauru," Home Affairs Minister Karen Andrews has said.

The Refugee Council has called on New Zealand, US and Canadian governments to assist resettling the remaining refugees.

"It is laughable for the Australian government to pretend that it no longer has any responsibility for people it transferred to PNG," council spokesman Paul Power said.

Surprise surprise. A bit like how it was convenient in the hey day of the empire to keep the army continually deployed as the things that made them an excellent fighting force also made them not people you wanted dossing about in Blighty.

Nineties Afghanistan was literally a lawless wasteground (as opposed to merely a wasteground) with no anything, so they were a bit more severe when taking control because their gimmick was no nonsense. Plus the minorities were affiliated with the non-Taliban groups which don't really exist anymore. So there is that, and more than likely an element of trying to act a bit more normal now so that they get left alone.

As for the boredom of not fighting, there is that great anecdote about how the Americans would capture 'Taliban' and then during questioning find out that they weren't anything to do with the Taliban, they had just heard gunshots echo round the valley and flocked to the fighting for something to do. That ought to have been the signal to stop bothering really shouldn't it.

The Government, which is currently being run by the National Party while scummo is overseas, has just voted against a net zero by 2050 target.

The Nationals pull in 10% of the national vote same as the Greens Party.

The Nationals ambition is to protect the mining industry for as long as possible.

Just in time Jordan Shanks posts a handy video about the Nationals permanently destroying river systems in NSW by building damns for the cotton industry.

Roadrage innit. Cars multiply all emotions by a factor of 10, be it exhaust nonces like Pepe or the MY SON IS 11 lady that definitely shouldn't be wearing leggings in that manner.
