The MP group stuff on vaping is classic filling the time somehow stuff.

While it should be used as a way to stop people smoking, the idea that it should be acceptable in the workplace or on buses is cuckoo enough, but when you get to allowing the companies that make them to advertise, fuck me.

I haven't ever smoked or 'vaped', but it seems to have done more to get people off smoking in its five minute-long existence than thirty years of anti-tobacco Nazism has, so the more adverts and spaces for it the better.

It's complete militance against it here, treated exactly the same as smoking. Mainly because they're afraid of their shite people might give up smoking.

It's going to put all of the public health 'smoke free generation' dickheads out of a job, so they want it lumped in with smoking.

They should bin the advertising and just change the name of it. No one who isn't a complete bellend wants to participate in 'vaping'.

Well not really, because if you allow them to advertise then they won't just stop at the benefits vs. smoking.

St Helens rugby stadium is called Totally Wicked stadium, sponsored by the e-cig company. It’s ridiculous, really.

If they're not dangerous - which is why tobacco advertising gets suppressed - then so what? They won't be able to make things up, just as Guinness no longer claims to be good for you, so they will just have to advertise like everybody else and make [provable] anti-smoking claims and try to make them a lifestyle accessory. What's wrong with that this side of the Iron Curtain?

They've got fucking nicotine in them, of course they're dangerous. Just (probably) a lot less than actual smoking.

I always had it that nicotine was addictive but not dangerous, hence people wearing those patches and so on. It's the tar wot kills you.

Nicotine is about as dangerous as caffeine. You don’t want to mess with it if you have a heart problem, but otherwise it’s fine.

There are concerns (and starting to be some evidence) that huffing a load of vapour into your lungs thousands and thousands of times isn't very good for them.

Also, nicotine isn't necessarily harmless to the lung tissue locally even if the systemic effects are relatively minor.

And that’s my point, by advertising it’s only going to encourage more twats like that.

Leave it for the smokers who want to quit to use it as it is. It’s impossible not to know about it, so no need to push it and end up with egg on your face in 20 years time when it’s realised that it actually gives you lung aids.

I always find these sort of interviews fascinating to watch (an interview with someone who later turns out to be the perpetrator)

Going by his showing in that charity match that was on telly recently, he's wasting his and the club's time. He'd get laughed out of sunday league. Just has completely the wrong physique.

I thought he was alright in those charity matches. However, those games are like playing in the park with your out of shape friends so it isn't a good indication to judge him. He trained with Arsenal, Dortmund and a few other teams and nobody signed him. Dropped down a few levels until he fights a team mad enough to give him a deal.

Considering most actual professional footballers' powers are starting to wain at 32, I find it amazing someone thinks they are going to be able to successfully start a career at that age.

If he was truly serious about it, he would've given it a go years ago rather than it being an afterthought to his athletics career.

Starting at 32 in Australia (if they sign him) sounds like a success for me.

No chance this happens. People always forget just how good “good players” are. Being rapid is useless if you’re completely unable to use the ball when you get it and when you don’t know where on the pitch to stand

Well hardly, as good as he might have been at football it would have been an absolute waste if he'd chosen that ahead of sprinting.

The best thing that could come out of this would be a special card in FIFA19.

Someone will probably sign him for shirt sales, like that One Direction Mug, but that’s about it. Any team playing against him would just drop deep and completely nullify his one skill.

His ball control is terrible, but the primary issue is that a lifetime of training so that he can run fast in one direction means he completely lacks the type of agility you need to be decent at football.

He should just take up a sport where running really fast is useful, other than, like, running, but I'd guess his lack of technical and tactical ability would hold him back in most other sports more than in football (say as a wide receiver in NFL).

He'd be better off going into Helmetball. A hurdler won the Superbowl in the eighties, I'm sure Bolt could learn how to catch a ball.

Any mong can catch a ball, there's far more to paying receiver in the NFL than that. He doesn't look to have the physique for it anyway.

If you're twice as fast as anyone else on the pitch you should be able to find enough space that ability to run a route or hold on to the ball under contact doesn't much matter. It's certainly more feasible than becoming a footballer.

Speaking of porn. Why are all these ’celebrity female’ porn scenes always awful? Their performances are so bad. It ruins the mystique that surrounds them. If Rihanna or Nicki came out with a sex scene and it was bad, I will show tears.

He wouldn't be able to make cuts when running routes.

A kick return specialist (if he could catch a punted/kicked ball) would be better.

He might not be now, but at the time of him attempting it Jarryd Hayne was the best athlete in rugby (both codes), and he didn't really get very far, so you would expect a sprinter to get broken in half with his first kick return.

The problem in the NFL is that there are already loads of guys there who aren't far off Olympic speed anyway. So although he's fast, he's not that fast.

"Go long" only gets you so far. Particularly when you probably can't catch the thing. That British sprinter tried to make a go of it and he failed miserably.
